any 4/20 sale at HLG?
I just bought four complete with the SSTX heatsink and thermal pad.Hello everyone, I just noticed that HLG has the QB 96 Elite V2 Engines back in stock today. I guess they finally received some more thermal pads.
I think with the splayed heatsinks they're capable of r ecco mended Max 224watts at 4amps with an absolute Max of 350watts at 6amps. So if you have 4, you need to run them at whatever your growing space will allow. What's your area dimensions?I just bought four complete with the SSTX heatsink and thermal pad.
What driver/drivers to push them to the limit ?
You'll want to wire those 4 QB 96 in parallel. The space is as large as I want it to be. I’m going to use a dimmable driver. I’m thinking HLG-600-54a in series for 4
I’d rather wire in series. What driver do you recommend? You'll want to wire those 4 QB 96 in parallel.
If you want to use a 600 watt driver, Inventronics is a common choice.I’d rather wire in series. What driver do you recommend?
wiring 4 in series will put you in the above 200v DC range, which to me begins to feel dangerous.I’d rather wire in series. What driver do you recommend?
Ok then let’s use two drivers. What do you recommend?wiring 4 in series will put you in the above 200v DC range, which to me begins to feel dangerous.
If you want to stick with passive cooling, 2 QB 96 per HLG-320H-C2800 (A,B, or AB) wired in series.Ok then let’s use two drivers. What do you recommend?
Ok, I promise one more question. If you want to stick with passive cooling, 2 QB 96 per HLG-320H-C2800 (A,B, or AB) wired in series.
Something like the HLG-480H-54 (or theoretically an HLG-600H-54). You'll need to wire in parallel. The Mean Well HLG constant current drivers don't output enough current to drive the QB 96's that hard.Ok, I promise one more question.
Let’s say I wanted to use active cooling. What would you recommend then for 2 96’s in series ?
My plans are to dim the fixture if not using fans. Options are my goal
You won't be able to get a lot of power out of them if you run them in series. Highest constant current(series) driver is like 2800-3200mA. Just use a 54V Constant Voltage driver for parallel.I’d rather wire in series. What driver do you recommend?
The size space is unlimited. You said you wanted to really get some power to them and in this case, these qb96s are one of the only boards that can realistically be driven fairly hard. So if you have enough vertical space to hang them high enough, at least 30" above your canopy, you could run each one at 200+ watts. But if you don't have that option, driving them hard isn't going to work for you.
So just give us an estimate on your sq footage and vertical space and we can suggest some driver options for ya.
From what I’ve seen the recommendations on the website are not always the only or best options.
Then just run 2 per HLG-480H-54A for 240w a piece .The size space is unlimited.
I agree, I’m about to order them. Thanks !Then just run 2 per HLG-480H-54A for 220w a piece .
