I think I should start over.

I dunno guys. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle and I'll only end up with shitty crop.

I am thinking I should just take clones of it and use the time it takes to root them to start from scratch with all I have learnt. What do you think? If I do, I'll do all this before I start again.

I'm going to make the gravity return 1.5" instead of .5 and leave the pump on .5. I'm running it at a trickle now it's all but useless. I have a bigger better pump and bigger air stone. I need to drill more holes and bigger ones in the pot. Properly insulate everything like I did my other buckets. I will also double up and get another bucket to fill the space faster and more efficiently. Finally i will install the chiller and AC.

I don't feel like trying to make this work anymore...

If you're starting over, I highly suggest you lose the air pumps and stones and just use waterfalls. You'll be glad you did. Get 2" bulkheads and abs piping for your returns instead. Hit build a little 4 site system so it's there to use if you want. The extra water volume will help immensly.

I wish. I'm doing this in a 3x3 tent hidden in a bathrooms walk in closet in my house.

I want to do waterfall but I'll need a lot of work for a tiny bucket! It's just a tiny waterfarm. Hoses are so much easier. Maybe if I get a license to grow it and upgrade from a closet! I am also the shittiest handyman. I think this is one corner I want to cut for now. I got a real powerful pump that can make the water boil in there. It's just less efficient I guess.
Ultimately though I would love that honestly.

Should I start over???

Putting a pump directly in your water will just heat it up well beyond what is acceptable.

Maybe show us your setup first and the conditions of your plant(s). I'm confused bc you mentioned waterfarm, but you have an inline pump outside of your tent. Also, walk in closet in a bathroom? I've been in a lot of houses but I've never seen a bathroom with a walk in closet lmao - sounds legit.

Here you go!

Here's what the plant looks like now. I added h2o2 at 6am incase my root rot is coming back and at 10 I added up roots which is a dose of chlorine I believe. I have a cloner on the way and if this plant doesnt smarten I have to just start over.

It's a modified waterfarm. I just modified it. I think it wasnt made for growing this big. I need to modify it more my gravity piping is too thin I have a valve restricting pump flow to a trickle. I did not wash my hydroton other than a quick spray. I need to drill the drain holes in the pot out to make them bigger and add more. lots of improvements I should do. I have a GH pump arriving today and huge disk bubbles to add. Here are pics.

What chiller is that anyhow?
That is my res. Its white I put those on to darken it till I properly light proof it.

This chiller is on its way

And this AC

are you planning on still running all organics thru a chiller?
I feel like with everything I have done wrong and all my screwups I cant justify throwing it all out yet.

I'm going to fix all my errors and give it one more try. I honestly believe I am mostly to blame but I understand that this is the hard and not recommended food. You are 100% right though this food is a big part of it, it seems more prone to errors. I will be looking for alternative food as I run out and will not buy this brand again.

I have a theory why I keep running into it, i think i have a bunch of dead rotting roots that will keep bringing back my problems after disinfecting. I find chunks in my hydroton and clogging the dripper. Without starting over and properly washing everything and disinfecting it all, I think I'll never fix this run. Every time I gain ground for a few days it comes back. I need to narrow down all the variables.

Funny I'm running an unmodified Waterfarm now bc I wanted to keep it simple - I can assure you that the Waterfarm can handle plants much bigger. I can't speak to organics in DWC but I mostly ever see people say not to use them. If you had root rot, that is something I had to fight years ago in a homemade rdwc system and there was no winning. In the end, I scrapped just about everything and started over. With no roots, what's the point? That's just my opinion

I feel like I agree with you.

I ran a waterfarm in 2007. Same food. I couldn't remember all of this but now I do. I had similar issues and was advised to mod it by making the drain holes bigger and add more, and run an air stone in the bottom. I also found out I should soak the hydroton. In all my excitement and my hear update all I remember doing was the air pump. And quite like before I started with the included GH food and had no problems till I switched. After the mods though my second run was amazing. My buds were jaw dropping. I stopped growing in 2010 when I had a baby. Now it's legal here and my house is a lot bigger. I can easily conceal my setup and can afford better equipment and i just jumped in thinking I did this before I know everything lol.

Heisen kept running into it and its was in his water. He had to get an inline uv cleaner. Just saying if all else fails might wanna look into it.

I actually have one for my fish tank but it goes into the filter! I am pretty sure it keeps coming back because something is rotting in there. If I start over and clean everything and keep things going well I doubt it will come back.

I screwed up early and on. I'm finding chunks of my roots getting spat out. I don't know from where because the roots in the water look fine. I'm sure the damage is deep and I cant see it or in the hydroton. I can disinfect today and it will just come back because the rotting roots will breed it. An online UV would be an extreme method but will definitely be great for people running sterile systems! It works like magic in fish tanks for cleaning algae, bacterial blooms and stop infections spreading.

Here's my fish tank! I am really proud of it. It's a well balanced ecosystem that basically takes care and cleans itself.
