SF and mars hydro are crappy lights at that price, there are much better options: HLG 550 clones from alibaba are allright for the price but shipping might be killer.Kingbrite HLG.
How long will shipping takes I dont wanna wait months to recieve it. Space is a 5 x 5SF and mars hydro are crappy lights at that price, there are much better options: HLG 550 clones from alibaba are allright for the price but shipping might be killer.
How big is your space, OP?
You can easily make a better light for less if your prepared to make very basic connections/easy diy and thus stay away from china lights. Or use a china light a less wattage to avoid stressing diodes.
Non of the mentioned lights will properly cover a 5x5, usually shipping is by air and fast but youd have to confirm with your alibaba supplier. How long will shipping takes I dont wanna wait months to recieve it. Space is a 5 x 5
If you aren’t prepared to pay $800 or more for LED to light a 5x5 then just go with HPS or something similar. Any ready to go light that cost less than $1/watt is usually a crap light and you need at least 750-800W of quality LED for a 5x5.How long will shipping takes I dont wanna wait months to recieve it. The closest to a to a cheap and decent solution to this would be 4x qb96 on 2x hlg320: they would need about 2.5-3 ft hanging height and the setup would be 250ish for the qbs with RIU10 discount and about 160$ iirc for drivers. But then id just get another 2 qbs for another 125 and run them a bit softer. If you aren’t prepared to pay $800 or more for LED to light a 5x5 then just go with HPS or something similar. Yeah, I know it can be DIYd for less, I was specifically talking about "ready to go" lights. The closest to a to a cheap and decent solution to this would be 4x qb96 on 2x hlg320: they would need about 2.5-3 ft hanging height and the setup would be 250ish for the qbs with RIU10 discount and about 160$ iirc for drivers. So it can be done for less and even close to the SF/Mars prices.
OP,Just dont get mars or SF. Check out the threads about SF/mars on here and then go check out the 100s of pages of happy peeps on DIY with quantum boards thread. I usually try too save money aswell and have bought several led boards from china. But if youre in the US this deal (and with the great aftersales services) is to good to miss out on.
If you dont have at min 750+ watts in a 4x4, you’re losing yield in your space...a 5x5 you’re looking more like 900+Have a look att this thread.
For a 5x5 done properly atleast 750w of quality leds and definitely more than 1 fixture or points of lights. If only 1 if will be shitty light in edges and corners.2 x 320W XL QB V2 R SPEC KIT vs the new 650R
You will have an amazing light !!!! Later you could add some uva and some far red and it would be almost perfect in my opinion. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.www.rollitup.org
Seems like op is on a budget. 30w per foot works fine if you optimalize it, running soft and close to cannopy with a redsuped spectrum. Have a look at cobshopgrows grow, he does a around 10 feet with 220w in top lights with good results. But ideally yeah put in more light and it will grow more generally but overlighting is no good neither, many setups were medium and growstyls do not allow for 1000ppfd. Definitely. But how far is a qb96 from a finished light? Half the problem of diy is sourcing parts and actually getting over those last moment "pull the trigger" nerves. Anyone who is willing and ready to setup a hps should also be ready to do a qb96. Its just screw driver and push in connectors in a low voltage circuit, hps is around 400V iirc.Yeah, I know it can be DIYd for less, I was specifically talking about "ready to go" lights.
I totally agree but some people look at wire nuts, or wagos, and they get freaked out and think it's too much work.Definitely. But how far is a qb96 from a finished light? All they need to do is ask for help. My first build was 6m2 of china led boards, no experience really and they still work fine. Its just about getting on with it.I totally agree but some people look at wire nuts, or wagos, and they get freaked out and think it's too much work.
You should be able to run 9-1100 ppfd no problem in any controlled room. There’s nowhere in my space that gets less in flower.
