I believe ETL is the lowest in Canada then CUL then CSA.they are CE, RoHS, and EMC certified, not sure if that's sufficient or not

I'll gladly swap a 1kW HPS out of one of my 4x4' flowering tents and perform a trial run of the equivalent amount of LED for you from start to end if you desire.Got the wholesale pricing for Spider Farmer and again not much margin to play with especially when you're dealing with Amazon and free shipping. Both Mars and SF will drop ship though. I might bight the bullet and order a few SF1000 SF2000 for a trial run.
How do these compare to "oldschool" mh and hps in 600/1000? I am totally overwhelmed with these new LED's and really dont understand the technology other than they are cheaper to run and not as hot.. Are they any good for medium sized grows? Can anyone post a link to a siteor video explaining LED's vs HID's? I fear im stuck in the old ways with mH and hps but atleast i understand what im getting with them
I just picked up 2 of their 3000k 480w kits. I searched for a few months and nothing beats this deal including ordering from china or ebay or wherever. 579.99 with free shipping was a steal.I have purchased a couple of the fusion board kits from growlights
I just picked up one of these for 199. Samsung stamped boards.
125 Watt FB288 LM301H 3500k + 660nm + UV +IR LED Fusion Board Light DIY Kit
I also have a 2 board set in 3k i use in a tent.
The latest offerings have this for 40 dollars more on a board
125 Watt 3500k CREE XP-E2 + 660nm + LG UV +IR LED FB272 LM301H V4 Light DIY Kit
These are chinese factory standard parts. You could get them branded to your liking in an order as low as 10 units for most of the stuff over there if you can find the vendor.
The 3500 is really a perfect light for the 50 x 80 x 150 cm tent i have it in (5 square feet 125 watts)
I can't go with the kits from Alibaba as puts liability on me for selling electronics not at least ETL listed which is illegal in Canada although I see some stores are doing it. Spider Farmers are coming in on Monday. There''s not much profit but will see how it goes but warranty and turnaround is most important. I didn't invest in lots of CMH or HID ballasts so have bare inventory and will blow out the CMH is the SF works good have to keep some digital HID for regular customers who replace old equipment. The SF2000 is actually going to be same price or cheaper than the name brand 315 CMH systems.I just picked up 2 of their 3000k 480w kits. @AquaTerra your points on warranty and such are valid. I don't expect them(alibaba vendors) to do much other than provide you with some replacement parts and expect you to handle warranties that way.
I wouldn't be surprised if Mars owned Spider farmer and it was a more expensive version to see if enough interest in higher end products. I was looking at the spider farmer lights, the sf2000 would be good for veg but for flower in a 3x3 id go 2 of them, or a sf4000. a 4x4 could use 3 of the sf2000 for best coverage and performance. One thing for sure though......I can't go with the kits from Alibaba as puts liability on me for selling electronics not at least ETL listed which is illegal in Canada although I see some stores are doing it. I've talked to couple local suppliers and trying to talk about getting budget LED's is falling of deaf ears, they all want to keep selling expensive "horticultural" led's How the fuck am I suppose to sell someone a $1300+ light to grow 4 plants lol
If the SF sell out with in a month I'll keep talking to people to bring in or go in on a larger order to bring the price down. Love to be able to get system that will out do a 600W HID SE for $550 after taxes.
Also about SF and Mars I'm thinking this is the same company or two different divisions of one company? Their new shipment arrived on same days and both have the same controller and dimmer modules on the new units only thing is Mars adds that reflector to theirs.
so what equivalent to HPS 400w, 600w 1000w is the SF-4000 ?They came in Confirmed and got a copy of the ETL certification
I'd say its closer to 600W than 1000w in a 5x5 space. Its much smaller than say a Gavita LED so lots of the light is concentrated closer to center vs the bar style LED where it's spread out more even over a larger area. I can't see it being better than a Gavita 600/750 but looks like it would go against a 600W SE with less wattage and way less heat production. I just have to find someone to test it for me as have no access to a grow space.so what equivalent to HPS 400w, 600w 1000w is the SF-4000 ?
Speak to lumatek in the UK , all the hydro shops are selling them so there must be a reasonable markup.Ok so finalized the account with SF but they have nothing for two weeks lo. I talked to a few suppliers about cheaper LED and how big the market on the forums is for affordable LED/LED kits especially from Alibaba and pretty much fell on deaf ears. Seems they maybe only want to bring in stuff that LPs would want ie expensive high power stuff.

I know in America they cant use the name lumatek because its too similar to another US brand.
Might be different in Canada. But they are going to market them in the US just under a different brand name.
They've been in the HPS game for a long time and have a very solid rep and now kicking ass in the LED game.
They have a good range. from 600 pro's -465w-300w-200w and possibly bringing out single 100w bars.
Stay clear of meiju on Alibaba, they may well do exactly what they are supposed to but they sure as shit don't honour warranties , telling growers they have a year warranty and then 6 months in when a board fails telling them they can have a 50% discount on a replacement because they are half way through the year warranty is just taking the piss.
Kingbrite is a different story, but you would want to stay away from anything that you may have legal issues with, like clones of HLG products.
Though they are quiet capable of making you something to spec.
Sheeet, first ive heard of that, they've never stopped been on the shelves over here as far as I know.Would never trust Lumatek the purple digital ballast company. They totally fucked over the wholesaler/growers here for warranties about 9-8 years ago. One supplier showed me $100000 in Lumatek ballast on several skids they had sitting in the warhouse with Lumatek ignoring them for warranties. They eventually folded from what I heard the shafted everyone with bad ballasts.

Obviously your privy to better info been a retailer than I am a customer who would only buy one or two a decade.
Shocked to hear that tbh. Shame because they make one of the best LEDs on the market today.
You might want to think twice about mars and SF then, since they've been fucking customers for a long time.
