Day 42 - Super Lemon Haze Outdoor Hydro

Hey guys,

I wanted to check with the experts as to my first grow and progress I should expect.

Strain: Super Lemon Haze AutoFlower Feminized.

Environment: Missouri Hot and Humid 95 degrees 70% humidity for last 2 weeks. Only get 8.5 hours of direct sunlight due to so many trees (4 hours indirect).

Grow Medium: 100% perlite in 4 gallon container

Feed/Water Schedule: 1 time a day for 20 minutes with a drip restricting to 2.0gallons per hour. (So each plant gets about 2/3’s a gallon per day.

Nutes mix: 2.5grams of masterblend per gallon.
2.5grams is calnit
1.3grams of epson salt (the 3 part masterblend mix)
Started adding 10tsp of PK boost (ionic 0-5-6) for 14 gallon reservoir (basically 3/4 tsp per gallon)
This makes my TDS about 1.6. (For first 4 weeks I ran it a little litter at 1.2 TDS

Reservoir: 14 gallon tank with pump delivering water/nutes at 68-72 degrees. With 2 large bubblers.

I had a small battle with leaf miners but quickly got rid of them with BT* bacillus thuringiensis (BT) bacteria. That shit is amazing, I think I might have also had a few spider mites, but think I got them gone also...

Ok now to my question:
I am on day 42 from seed, I see what I believe to be pre-flower but I feel like I am not where I should be in 42 days. To my noob eye they look healthy and seem to be growing good but I assumed I would be in in flower by now and have bigger bushier girls... Any ideas and or tips?

Looking good! No preflowers yet? Good sign as they can flower early if stressed.

If you are disappointed by the size are you comparing them to indoor grows? That could be your error. Being autos you can have them with 20hrs or full (sun) light.

You’ll love the stretch as they can easily double if not triple in size!

Great to here, thank you for the reply. I guess I don’t even know what to compare too, to be honest. I am struggling a bit to tell of what I see are pre-flowers or not, mainly only what I think might be are developing on new growth (you can see on my “top down photo”) are those actually pre-flowers? Thanks again man.

Looks to be. One way to tell is take a close look at the main stem. At the highest point you’ll see a wee growth with a white hair sticking out. Where the branches meet the stem. Good luck 3)

Well, rookie mistake #42, I Had someone order the seeds for me from I49 for the Super lemon Haze, for whatever reason I thought I read they were auto feminized, but upon re-reading the site description I don’t see anywhere that they are autoflower, so assuming the are actually photo... which might explain the lack of transition from veg to flower as we are in the dog days of summer, hot as balls with long days...

yep, looks like later summer photoperiod plant you got there, they start and progress slow but even with that haze outdoors in the midwest, by late September you’ll be seeing some weight and thickness progression to the buds which will likely be ready in mid october, for that strain. You are doing fine

Ah gutted mate. They will show preflowers when they are mature. You can force flower them by tying them up in black bags. Just make sure they’re out of the sun so they don’t bake. If you’re wanting a sooner harvest.

For sure gutted, but not in a huge hurry so will just let the days narrow, assuming the temps will provide enough time for nice buds prior to the cold setting in! I think I should be fine if I can get them to flower by the first week of September (prefer a bit sooner to not cut it so close) but up to mid November it seems we have stayed a decent temp till then, giving me 10 total weeks of flower. Fingers crossed, which isn’t my favorite way to operate...

Have you ordered from i49 recently? Wanting to order but want to know if they're legitimate.
Yes the grow in this post (so April 2020) they were spot on, although I ordered 2 kind 5 seeds each, the SLH all sprouted, the other not a single seed would sprout no matter what method I used.
