Hi Guys! I'm new to this board although I have been lurking here for some time. I'd appreciate some feedback on my new setup. I have a GrowLab 80L (2.5ft x 5ft x 6.7ft). Initially I was going to use a Spider Farmer SF2000 or a Mars Hydro TSL 2000 until I found this board, lol. Now I'm researching on Kingbrite and found a few great lights that quiet literally punk my first 2 choices. HMU and lemme know what you think... I've been dealing with Vicky @ Kingbrite, here are the choices;

#1 - 1 x Kingbrite w55 320w Bar:

#2 - 1 x Kingbrite IP67 320w + CREE

#3 2x Kingbrite QB288 240w

#4 1 x Kingbrite QB 288 320w

I don't know if I should even opt for the CREE and H's or just save the $100 - please hit me up w/ input, thanks!

Well at 30w per square foot and 12.5 square feet you want 375w

You will probably get 360 out of one of their 320 drivers and that's probably fine.

I would go to the LED sub section in indoor growing ask for opinions in the Chinese QB clone thread.

#3 would be my choice. Going with 2 would give you the best light coverage for sure. 480 total watts. How many plants are you thinking about growing?

@Merkn4aSquirtn I was looking at those too, IMO the heatsink on that is nicer then the kingbrite heatsink. Thicker by 5mm (which is why shipping is a bit more). Congrats on the new light brotha!

Oh for sure. You too bro! Do you know if theres an import tax that we pay when we receive them? It's mixed everywhere; some say yes and some say nada?

I've heard the same thing too. I got a message on alibaba with a tracking for ups. I'm hoping it just comes to my door no questions asked lol. Not sure how they'd collect money unless i have to pick it up from somewhere. I'll be sure to let you know how everything went.

When I ordered my light I asked the seller if i would have to pay import tax so they just put a lower price on the invoice to avoid the extra cost.

I'm not sure if everyone will do this but its worth asking before you buy.

Standard practice for Chinese vendors, Ask for it every time :)

From what I've heard, the carrier is supposed to collect a 30% tariff on Chinese imports ... but the present administration is more changeable than New England weather so just be prepared ... and FYI, "bill me" probably isn't the best answer.

Light came today at around 10:30 this morning. Ups just left it at the door. No extra costs.
I'm pretty impressed with it. Super fucking bright. Hooked it up in the living room while my girl was in our bedroom.. she said she thought it was the sun lighting up the room when i turned in on full blast.
Good quality, nice look, thick heatsink and a dimmer for 147us dollars shipping and everything. Can't beat it.

I was considering getting an LED light for almost a year, but after hours of research and comparison of PAR maps and prices, I got a SunSystem 315 LEC with a Phillips bulb instead, and I couldn't be happier with it.

The price and performance of LED lights right now still just does not add up for me.

The 315 is excellent, it also has a UV spectrum that is much closer to the sun than any other HID or LED lamp. I think this factor alone makes them well worth considering.

Happy growing!

I got 4 ea Archibald 240W for $570 USD (included shipping) a couple months ago. They are killing it in one of my flower tents

Built 1140W of whites reds and uv's across 11 drivers for the other flower tent

LECs are great, you got the vertical orientation i presume? These are so bulky though...Hows the heat output? I always thought itll be much better if the reflectors they came in would have a duct port for cooling.

Yes, I have the vertical mount option.

The room temp in the room with my tent is between 75-78 during the summer, and 65-68 in the winter. In the summer it has never gotten above the low 80s. I just have an exhaust fan and filter running for smell, but it provides enough airflow to maintain good temps. I just assumed the reason they don't have duct vents is the 315 bulbs don't run hot enough to need additional cooling.

The only drawback I can see compared to LED is the space, it does take up quite a bit of room, probably about as much as my old 400 or 600 watt HPS hoods. I will add that SunSystem says to keep the light 24 inches from the tops, but I have let it get as close as 12 inches with zero light damage to my flowers.
