Leave in in short nights and wait to see if it flowers.
Unless it's bag seed, I'd hope a bank would tell you which was an autoflower as they're grown quite a bit differently even as a young plant.

Most (female) autos start producing pistils after 3 weeks. They'd be obvious by now. Mosca's website has an autoflowering section, and they're all feminized from what I could see.
If you don't have preflowers, odds are it's a photoperiod.

Ok thanks. The 3 pack of seeds was an extra tossed in from an order at seedsherenow. It wasnt labelled with anything about the seeds.
If i put the light cycle to 12/12 will it have any material impact on the autoflower in the tent?

Autos do better with at least 18 hours of light indoors. Some use 24 hrs.
But it should be fine in 12/12.

You can. And it will be fine. But you are cutting 6 hours a day of direct light from the auto. That additional 6 hours per day means the difference between a good and meh yield.

Ive never grown photos. Would i be better off to let it veg while the jack herer auto takes another ~7 weeks to finish. Then go 12/12?

Just depends on what you're trying to do. Photos will stay in veg for years relatively happily if you keep them out of 12/12, so it's not a hard and fast rule on when you need to flip them. It's more about how you're utilizing your grow space and how your schedule works out if you've got other plants waiting.
It's not gonna hurt anything to let it veg for 7 more weeks, just the plant is gonna be a big girl when you flip her to flower. And beware, they grow quite a bit when you switch to 12/12.

Thats a personal call. Once it is sexually mature you can flip or keep in veg.

Here is the full situation. How would you play this?
am running out of room in my tent and I havent flipped the smaller plant which is about 5 weeks in,i dont know what kind it is, Other plant is a jack herer auto 6 weeks in.
How do i manage the space when this plant stretches? Do i just trim up the sides of the tent? Let the plant figure it out?
Do you think the smaller indica plant is a photoperiod? Ive never grown one so Im unclear. It sprouted 7/11. I got it in an anniversary pack with no description. Just discovering this now adds to my tent puzzle. Will switching to 12/12 for the photo materially impact the auto yield and what will that do to tent space vs. switching to 12/12 when the auto is harvested?
My second grow, first time with coco. My first grow plants were stunted big time so i didnt know the sizing of plants and i put the plant in 5gal of coco other in 3gal.

If the small one is photoperiodic and you keep it in veg it'll continuously steal light from the flowering one and hinder proper budding.
There is no space for 7 weeks veg. You would need another tent. You either go 12/12 and increase your umols accordingly (if possible) to compensate the loss of DLI or take a cut and bloom that, then youll see, well, at least, in 2 weeks.
Autos and photos together are problematic...

The auto doesnt look that good to me at 6 weeks. Do you agree on that? Would it be silly to scrap it and give the tent to the photo?

It appears to have some problems, as you can see from the leaves, leaf-tips & stalks.

Yes. I lst too hard and snapped the mainstrm several weeks ago. Went out of town and water was irregular. First 3 weeks inwas way underfeeding. So its been through a lot. The photo looks pretty solid though?

They look too good to scrap anything at this point. Scan around for some training and defoliation threads and do what you can to thin out/train the ladies. The problem with auto's, at least for me, is that they can become a real pain when the genetics are messed up. I currently have just 1 plant taking up my 5x5 tent. Was supposed to be an Early Miss auto and it did not start to flower. As someone pretty new to this whole hobby I left it waiting for the plant to do it's think but got fed up and flipped to 12/12 after 12 weeks of veg. Now she is a monster and no more room to work around her, just have to wait for the plant to finish. She is too close to the lights with no ability to move her down or the lights up. I for one will stick to photos indoor from now on, at least this way I know I am in control of when to flip and can allow any damage done by training to heal before I switch to flower. This pic is plant that was germinated on March 16th and put in coco on March 18th, it is the plant that just will not die, lol. Will never get stuck like this again by trusting an Auto, ended up with a plant that is going to be 6 months to finish.
