My wifes rescue plant

So this is my wife and I'm rescue project plant! It's our first grow together and she had started it as kind of an "experiment so to speak" she didn't want to fully start growing until i had my medical card so she had just put a seed out of some fluff head that we loved and she wanted to try it out so she started growing it in a tiny Tupperware bowl then as soon as i got my card we decided to build a grow closet in our house. Once the closet was put together with the equipment we transplanted her in to a smart pot (fabric) and since then she has exploded with growth! Using fox farm soil and fox farm bloom boost and root stimulator!! Thanks for reading and check out the time-lapse photo's!! Any tips or advice for a new grower? Does my baby look healthy or am I missing anything?? 20200802_173446.jpg20200806_152137.jpg20200810_152610.jpg20200825_183036.jpg20200825_183128.jpg20200825_183238.jpg20200825_183310.jpg20200824_192415.jpg20200825_180735.jpg

Looks healthy! I'll top early, but don't typically start defoliating until later in a plants life but to each their own.

Have fun - good job so far!

Some cheap LED lights, its my first legal indoor grow so it's a budget grow room. They're just a generic light that runs like 160 watts but I have 2 of them, im growing inside a little closet in the middle of my house. The closet is a little small (2'x2' square with about 6' height, but my lights are positioned about 12" above the canopy) so they were the only lights that weren't extremely expensive but I could fit 2 of them. Idk if LUX is super important when it comes to lights like that, but with 2 of them at 12" from canopy it tested at 6789 and went up to 9843 once right at the light. But I also have the humidity at 55% and my temp stays at 72° and im pushing O2 through the mollasses/nute RO water with a PH of 5.7 when watering and the soil tests around 5.8 about 5 minutes after each water. She is in a smart/fabric pot.

but she started the plant in the window sill and in a tupperware bowl, at 16 days old I transplanted in to real soil and a real pot and moved her under lights. So I think she was stunted from that and is finally recovering cause the last 4 days or so she has grown almost 4"

no offense but it looked better before defol.
And it's my first grow, this is why I posted here and asked if i was doing g things right. So im assuming I shouldn't have defoliated so young, but what about topping and LST, or is she to little for all that to?
Defol is for bigger plants with way to many leaves, it can help to open up plant to allow better air flow through plant during flowering.

No dont defol at this stage, we try to grow leaves not remove. Until you can afford to loose em

Topping forces lower branches to grow. Yes you can do this to younger plants with no ill effects, but defol is for later, and for the right reasons. ;)

Awesome thanks!! Should I defoliate or top my auto flowers ever? I've read to never top autos, is this correct? Also no offense taken!! I have 3 other plants this is just my trial and error seed that I found, im growing 2 autos that are blue dream and a photo Maui uaie in separate grow areas. But thanks for the info, I'll probably just let the autos grow and do some LST instead of Topping

Lst is best for autos, Don't want to stunt an auto or you may get a really small yeild...as we have no control over when they start to flower.

Awesome!! Fr thanks again! I'll post updates as they grow. The Autos are only like 13 days old but are healthy and thriving. Growing like an inch to 2 a day!

Just wondering if this seedling will make it or not? She's a little smaller than the rest leave size wise and her bottom 2 leaves cotyledon i think is what they're called lol. But those 2 leaves are just slightly yellowing but the rest of the leaves are healthy just smaller. It is an auto blue dream i know the pic is blurry lol 20200826_135016.jpg
The top pic is 3 days ago and the next pic is today 20200828_145547.jpg
Also im assuming that the "squiggly" stem is from her being left in the dark to long while sprouting her because my wife sprouted her in Rockwood and in less light.20200828_145703.jpg

hill medium up the stems, like we do with potatoes, bury stems upto inch of leaves.

Your light probably needs to be closer or better spectrum if they are stretching so much and getting lanky. Do you have a veg/ flower switch for light spectrum on led?

I moved the light to 6" above the plants and it has made a huge difference in growth rate!! Thanks again for the help! I'll post update pics when I get back home they have pretty well corrected the stretching stems and have started to fill out and grow more even on the node spacing!!!

Here is an update of the Maui and Blue dream auto flowers after just 1 week of moving the lights to 5" above the canopy!! Thanks Lime
Even the stretched out one with the squiggly stem has straightened out and has taken off!

Your welcome! :bigjoint:

But you didn't put more soil around main stem yet....?

Also you could add a small fan to blow gently over plants to strengthen main stems. ;)

I did and when I watered it washed out from around them. They started thickening up and have an oscillating fan blowing across them. Should I still mound up dirt even if they're getting stronger and thicker stems?
