Are there lights I can use to extend the light cycle period outside?

Sup folks,

Over by me I have 13 hours of sun per day now. I am wondering if there is a lighting system made for outdoors to extend the light cycle period?

Thing is the temps are perfect here between now and the end of November.

So I would love to take advantage of the lovely temps for some new plants but popping seeds now with the short light cycle would be ill advised.

Thanks for any info on the matter

Greenhouse growers have used the GLR (gas lamp regemin) using portable lanterns to make just enough light to keep the plants awake.

So whatever sorta light you can cobble up should work. You can see pics of large outdoor grows with a string of CFL's hanging and ran off a portable generator.

Yea but we are at 13 hours a day of light now. That will really make for crap yields.

I use 12w LED bulbs. I've done it with solar powered LED flood lights just to prove it could be done but I had to flip them on every night at 11pm.

Now I just have some low watt LED's on a timer at sunrise to 11pm. You can also just run the lights for an hour or two at midnite.

I have a set of strand leds on my back patio. Think that will work? I have 8 of them put together to illuminate the entire patio.

The LED Bulbs I use are just the regular screw in replacements for normal incandescent/cfl bulbs. They generate very little heat and cost next to nothing to run.

Pot plants aside, a BBQ and Hot Tub with brick patio, living the life bud.
I basically had some extra auto seeds and said fuck it get what I can get out of them. Thats why I'm searching for a cheap alternative to just the hours of sunlight.

Got a new BBQ coming next Monday! Thats gonna be awesome. Il pop up a pic when I finish building it.
