Grow setup tips needed

Im new to growing still trying to figure out what i want. Im looking to grow 1 to 2 plants at a time in a 2x2. Sounds odd but i think i could grow 1 or 2 pretty huge plants with this setup. The light i plan on getting is a mars hydro ts1000. Its meant for a 3x3 which is why i think using it in a 2x2 growing 1 to 2 plants is good because it would max out the yield. I also plan on using a carbon filter and inline fan for exhaust to vent out heat and running a couple fans for air circulation and strengthen plants. Another thing is 5 gallon fabric pots ph tester and ph up and down. My medium of choice is coco choir. Ive watched a lot of fert videos and i want to go with dry amendments and put some in the medium before i grow and mix it around. At the beginning of flower top dress feed and 2 weeks before harvest top dress feed again but less. Not sure if i should run a humidifier or de humidifier. If you guys have any tips or recommendations please let me know. Again i think growing small amount of plants under that powerful led would give me 1 or 2 big solid plants why do you think?

Hi there!
For 2x2 I would recommend to grow 1 big plant. Especially that you wont to use 5 gallon pots. That will be more efficient on space side, but you will need more time for veg. You can grow 2 plants but it could become tidy. Look at my first grow with autos: https://rollitup.org/t/can-you-rate-my-girls.976939/post-14520232
For the light I would recommend to look for quantum boards or quantum lines of the same power as Mars Hydro light.
I haven't heard about top dressing coco. For the first grow I would recommend to use standard A+B liquid fertilizers. Easier to control how much food you give to your plant and you can correct it if something goes wrong. Check if ferts have Calcium and Magnesium. And if they don't use CalMag supplement.

A 3 gallon pot in a 2x2 for coco should cover you. An EC/ppm tester is needed also, solution strength is integral part of coco drain to waste.
At the beginning of flower top dress feed and 2 weeks before harvest top dress feed again but less.
Don't need top dressing, its coco. Top dressing is watering it every day.

I'd go for one big plant, personally I wouldn't be mixing in dry amendments or top feeding, get a good coco nutrient and minimal additives for minimal hassle, you start top feeding etc your asking for trouble, wait until you have some experience before branching your own style.

Best of luck with it, keep it simple!

I think a 2x2 is great choice. Mars doesn't like telling us how much light their fixtures produce, but it should be pretty good for 2x2. Five gallons of coco is too much. Max three gallons and just buy canna coco a+b, perhaps add cannazym and rhizotonic, but they are not necessary. In a three gallon coco pot you should be able to water once a day or two, but the more you water them the more your plants will love you (in coco and using a bit of common sense).

ive just heard using liquid fert can be risky for burning your plants but ill definitely go for it i just need to find a proper feeding schedule

I checked the power output of the mars hydro and it looked good it also had pretty good ppfd the main problem is im on a budget for the light not looking to spend more than $160 on it

I found the pH terribly unstable I stick with two part canna a+b is a solid nutrient hassle free, you only risk burning them if you over do it, get a tds meter and you can't go far wrong.
Your environmental is very important for healthy growth.

I haven't used them. By the most they considered as good. Folks above gave a good advice: go simple. Coco A+B will do the thing (just choose a brand that coco growers recommend). If you use mineral fertilizers you don't need any kind of mycorrhizae. Food for the plant is available straight away.

That depends on plant genetics and training you will use. Make side branches to grow horizontally instead of vertically (FIM/ScrOG/manifold). With one plant you need more time to fill same horizontal space then with two. When your plant is 2/3 to 3/4 of the grow space you can switch to flower and she will take all the room left.

So the canna a+b do i need cal mag or do those have calcium and magnesium in them

In soil a fairly big, but in coco a huge one. Larger than 2x2. In fact with coco you can use a tiny container if you can keep it hydrated.

The mars is probably a good choice for the money.
So in a 3 gallon pot i could grow a big plant in coco you dont think the roots will run out of spave

The mars ts1000 is 150w light, its probably perfect for 2x2.

I agree with everyone else's comments. 1 plant in a 2x2 is great, canna coco for coco coir medium or something similar.
You have 1000% more chance of fucking your plant up going down top dressing route , coco is great when its treated like coco despite what cannuck idiot says.
Amending it is pointless and you may as well build a soil if you wanted to go down that road.

Always have a bottle of calmag so its there if you need it, it will greatly depend on your water source.
ph 5.8-6.2 and water daily until run off when plant is established .

Make your life easier not harder.
