I use a Mars Hydro TS2000 and LOVE IT. Haven't tried the Vivosun but if you mean the old "blurple" one go for the Mars Hydro for sure.

If you are on a budget, just throw an hid in there.
Cheap led is a waste of money and generates just as much heat as an hps, or mh

They are totally getting better. My Mars Hydro is like last years model or so? Higher ppfd values than the 2x Viparspectra 300w I was running before but ~5 watts less power draw from the wall and less heat in my tent.

Neither.
HLG, Timber, ChilLed and some others are decent. Personally I would never recommend a Chinese light to anyone.

What's your budget? Tech level? DIY strip builds are always an option and you could possibly end up spending the same/less for a much better light.

Ah see but I have 3k worth of chinese lighting and it works great, but who's to say my samsung diodes and meanwell driver are better then yours. You might be right. But until I fork out twice the money for relatively the same light and put the ppol tester under it can we really ever settle this? I think as stated, every light has its place. I wouldnt recomend something that's been shipped in a cardboard box over seas to be used in a commercial application without extreme testing. But if it met up to the testing why would it be bad? Idk I'm high dont listen to me I'm just here to grow some weed
