Just use that money on a dehumidifier if you humidity is too high. Adding more steps to a process is not productive innovation.

This does nothing to support the statement that caught my eye. By that logic, quickly but completely dried weed should be least harsh.

So I am not moved from my current opinion that water is not the carrier of harshness.

I don't have that experience, I've done a lot of experimenting with duration, temperatures, etc... the best seems to be 70-86f (20-30c) using a thermostat timer to turn on and off when it gets under 70, or above 86f

If I am out I'll dry some in my dehydrator to get me through till the majority dried and cures
Use the lowest temp setting,it takes about 12 hours to dry a half o on my lowest setting...any higher and u get that quick dry taste that I hate

Just save the bud dont rush it it takes what it takes and there are no real shortcuts id say you would probably have more luck with freeze drying it than vs a food dehydrator method personally id just do it the old fashioned way theres a reason people dont rush it they dont wanna fuck up alot of bud making it taste shit or worse to each to there own i just think your better waiting

My dehydrator only runs around 133.8f (after 30mins roughly) so by cycling the temperature on and off I achieve the same results as your 12hr timer on low. Yeah I could use a newer dehydrator, but this works fine I used a temperature sensor to test the temperature so I know it's accurate at least.

I'm not here to debate water harshing the weed lol :) But it's a good theory though, I think primarily its high temperatures which ruin the taste. People get impatient and just turn it on and forget it... Most terpenes have fairly high boiling points, but I suspect the terpenes which carry most of the taste get destroyed with excessive temperature (which are still below the boiling point!) so possibly a combination of excessive heat, and drying to quickly. Which seems to go hand in hand.

Time is an illusion, and I don't care about dredging up old posts. Sometimes they are pertinent, if they didn't want people commenting they should have turned off posting.

When I'm in a hurry, I cut a bud into little pieces and spread them out on the bottom of a glass tupperware container and stick it behind my computer fan.
They get clumpy but still smokable after a couple hours.

I do something similar to speed dry buds about 1-2 weeks into curing to take samples/test it but I definitely wouldn't do it for any large scale. Low and slow!

I have a dehydrator but I use it for drying fruits and vegetables. It's been running for awhile now as I try and keep up with the tomatoes.

i’ve tried it, makes your herb harsh and vegey-tasting, but its perfect to set on 135 and leave a bud overnight when you want to test your plant, like in preparation to harvest for example. Good for quick drying a sample, but go the long, correct route for your real stash.
