Hey guys,
My first grow with HPS bulbs. I totally underestimated the amount of space necessary between lights and plants. But my grow room pretty small and now I have to see it through before I can increase the ceiling height. Some of the leaf surface temps I was recording were around 96 degrees or higher. I managed to install an aircon now and am pumping cool air around 60 degrees onto them. The LST Is now between 68 and 78 degrees.
So my girls got quite serious burn. I am 3 weeks into flower and quite a few of the buds closest to the light got badly burnt, to the point that all the leaves on and around the buds are curled/clawed. Some of the buds are completely dried and clearly dead. There are still quite a lot of buds that were further away from the lights and they are looks beautiful.
I am working with a DWC hydro system and for the moment I've dialed back on the nutrients slot while they hopefully recover.
So my questions are:
Does anyone have experience with this kind of server burn ? Can the buds recover after such heavy burn given that the environment is more stable again ? Was I right to dial back on the nutes ?
Also, with the aircon installed the humidity is very low, not exactly sure how low but where I live its bone dry so even before the aircon, humidity was very low. Will this be an obstacle to recovery? Not sure how the hell I could increase humidity sufficiently in my cycten where air is passing through the entire system so quickly.
And feedback would be greatly appreciated
