i wish my 413 people would do this. we got enough space out here to make alot of stuff happen...
Do a little research on BC Bud, and the amount of grow houses in BC. AT one point they actually gave it a percentage, one out of every (x) so many houses was a grow house in BC. Like one out if every 10 or something ridiculous. I have a buddy who buys and rents duplexes and has one side a dedicated grow and seems to do well.

I hold the likely unpopular opinion of this being a myth.
I believe there is a potential maximum for the cola, ( if the pot is big enough like a soil run with plenty of compost ) and cutting off a piece here, doesnt make the other get bigger, I believe it would've stayed the same whether you cut it or not.

I've never noticed a difference other than airflow or something else like that, but not really for size. (maybe for hydro back in the day, or small pot grows 5-10gal)

I think of it like this... If you were growing and you cut off a finger, would the others grow bigger because of the extra 'energy'? Granted this is a human vs. plant... But I've found marijuana and growing in general has so many metaphors for life.

/End unpopular opinion
I agree but until this year I never topped my plants at all just let them grow big ginormous top cola etc. This is my first year topping 2 to four times at 2 months old and I must say the results were good less rot from huge dense top. Other than that I don't cut lower branches if they aren't ready at harvest I leave the plant out and harvest later

Why weren't local farmer's given a chance to grow in their greenhouses or fields? Given a chance to make good money. Guarantee you the quality would have been unsurpassed.
The opportunity was given here in MA to grow hemp as a prediction of how it could/ would work, just to open the door. The main issue is of course, number one, money, number two, quality control. US Government wants Uncle Sam to get his nickel. With so many people growing, that is too difficult as the black market is opened up to what we humble people call fair trade. Enter inspections, enter Big Pharmacy, Big Money and the whole paradigm becomes a honey trap for Big Industry, while the little guy gets squeezed out.
No matter what's said, us new legal zones follow in the footsteps of Colorado. They have been doing this a long time and have worked out many not the links months system, although here in MA we are stuck at the inspection roadblock. Everything has to be tested.
Second, if only this were like tobacco, where the buyers.would come out and lock in deals and we were able to actually make money from our efforts, that'd be great. Instead, if we want to make anything, we are forced.into a black market area where we are competing with rookies selling subpar medicine for nickels, squished between idiots who would rather go to a dispensary and pay way overpriced amounts for what is often not nearly as good as what we grow.
Seriously, for what you might spend, $60? At the dispensary, a grower could potentially let an oz of really decent smoke.go for around $140-$160. And that's what the prices are down to. I mean, 5 years ago, I may have seen blue Dream going for $4k a lb, cash. Now, prices are driven down to the 1600-1900 per lb. range because we don't have to lean on out of state black market anymore, there's plenty of local bud around.
I've heard that the only way to make a.decent return is to store your flower with humidity packs and wait it out til Feb. / Mar. when the bulk of the season has been sold , then spring the amazing sweetness out.
Just a rumour mind you.

My thoughts - just passing thru....

Report:
Noticed after all the damage, the recent rain, and the Mot&$-%ing rot I pulled n off my best colas, ever, I noticed a bright moment.
All the sudden everything is getting sticky and stinky. What's left is definitely slinging out terpines and oozing sticky trichomes. With a couple weeks left, my sugar leaves at the tops of the colas are starting to turn yellow/ purple, trikes turning red on some. It looks like its gonna be clearly a staggered harvest, which is a blessing and a curse. Mostly a curse. Having to track a multiple harvest calender is a pain in the ass, because your constantly doing stuff, hanging, drying, trimming, curing, burping, and if you get too high you can lose track of your thread so you gotta stay super focused.

Sigh.

One day I will simply broadcast plant seeds in a proper spot, and come back in the fall, let the cannabis fairies deal with it. I hear the swamp is the place to make this happen, lol.

this motivated me to switch to home growing. anyone been to berkshire hydro(pittsfield)? thoughts opinions?
I'm down the Mohawk Trail a bit towards Greenfield, used to live in Colrain, that's a great grow.zone out there (the Berkshires) wish wife and I could find a place to rent out there for our golden years. Are you talking hydro inside growing or (none hydro) out? Personally, if you are anywhere in the Berkshires, I would suggest the outdoor grow. You could do.some amazing stuff . And if you ever need security hooked up let me know, I have references.

Think I'd rather split a duplex with someone lol, however, your plan has merit, logic, and makes sense. I've only a couple questions.
I believe in MA, there are only 12 plants allowed per property. Even if you split a fourplex nto a sixplex, anything beyond 12 plants per building lot is a grey area.
I can't really base any more strategies on this without more info. Are you suggesting like a grow co-op? I am intrigued. Tell me more.

It's been an early fall from hell here to. I'll be tossing a couple pounds from the 50% at best yield after mutated mealys and PM. Fun and educational as always (said with a light sneer). Here's to directing karma into next years fun and games.

I have some experience with remote broadcast spreading if interested.

Pulling for us all. Heaters and $10 a night here in the rain. LOL.003.jpg

A new development concept - the cannadominium!
"Cull Da Sack"
i wish my 413 people would do this. we got enough space out here to make alot of stuff happen...
Ive been looking to buy land out there, been searching for over a year... Now its gone even slower though, I've resorted to using tax maps to find "abandoned" raw property, where the owners are elderly and have florida/out of state addresses...

Looking to get at least 10-15ac semi remote, off paved road for under 100k... If anyone knows anybody.

Funny for the longest time I would top all my plants and this year I had 3 that I chose not to top at all... For MA outdoors the year..I believe a lot had to do with thestrain and the lucky amazing weather we've gotten this year... But the gorilla glue nugs of this strain Im running seem to stay about baseball/softball size, and then branch up a bit allowing airflow... I really love the outdoor structure, I just wish the timing was better. But no rot seen at all.

Lmao, a terrible play on words joke that was left undeleted/unposted in my comment box... from a few posts back I forget who said the The Cannadominium....Condominium... Cul De Sac .... Cull Da Sack/Jack(Herrer) :p:wall:

FYI: The term sack related to weed might be a little before your time but just refers to a baggie of bud...Not sure if thats still a known term these days lol..

Yeah basically....72 plant count across 6 separate lots. Just splitting the cost of professional greenhouse, materials, labor, security, etc. a co-op farm of sorts... But just pieced apart legally the property lines are exact to stay within the legal plant limits there by avoiding inspections/registering as a co-op/business or even telling anyone about it at all in MA...

Id talk to a lawyer first, but it was a moonshot idea for if I ever had a bunch of money to blow on my own neighborhood development.
Wasnt planned out at all... Just a quick stupid thought and drawing I had one night.

EDIT: Originally it started by thinking of a shared greenhouse between me and my neighbors yard, we both grow marijuana, and hes an old hippie dude whos into gardening and other cool stuff, so it just started with that.... Which may be a very cheap and easy idea to test.

Well, sent one to get washed and squashed. First signs of white mold and one tiny bit of bud rot it went! Keeping a few small branches for myself.

How tall are your plants approximately?
