I'll be honest here. I want to see buds = or > the buds I make now with LESS watts. That's the kicker for me. Electrical savings and cooling savings.

So if I can use 460 watts and still make buds like this:

That's definitely one of the main reasons I bought HLG boards. I can't afford a Scorpion Diablo myself, and wouldn't buy a prebuilt light anyway. My light rig is a DIY set up using HLG QB96's. I picked those lights because honestly they were the best bang for the buck, from a US based company who is easy to communicate with, is transparent, and backs their products. I like that they are helpful and provide useful info easily. I know I coulda saved a few bucks buying some Alibaba boards, but I really hate dealing with overseas sellers if and when there are issues. I was able to put my HLG rig together for under $1/watt. How much am I really gonna save on that price if I went Alibaba, maybe 15%-20%? It isn't worth it for me. I trust HLG's integrity, and like the idea that they are in this business because they love growing weed first and foremost.

Agreed. The hlg qb96 is imho the best buy for a reliable not dropshipped US bought build. You get one point of light for 62$ and can easily keep your wattage either high or low per board. but mainly for the possibility to get good spread. Also with a spectrum allready corrected for red and with a nice fat blue peak.

Marketing, small business etc is very hard business to be in, I know as a small business owner myself,
But RIU definitely has a very aggressive nature to it, so lets try to be kinder, instead of berating and being aggressive to the advertisers here.

Theres really no need to talk to anyone like this, any member, (but this is specific to advertising right now)

I know that many of you are passionate about your LEDS and you have brands you really like to root for, and thats fine we all have that in all aspects of life, but you dont need to become aggressive towards others and try to trump them, find fault in their languages, pick at them.
Its just not necessary to keep at this.


If you dont like a company and its products and they are an advertiser here leave them alone, theres no reason to make them run away and stop advertising with us because that is what you are trying to accomplish simply because you dont like their product,you are not the only user to RIU,
and every little bit of money helps us provide your FREE website, which is costly, not cheap and takes hours and hours our of my time, the admins staff time, and the owners time.

I should not have to keep repeating this crap.

Hey Sunni. Is there any official policy in place regarding marketing claims here at riu and substantiating etc? And i agree on above posted regarding being constructive rather than destuctive, all partys included.

No, im not a Policy manager for all the advertisers we have i dont make their policies, that would be an insurmountable task and absolutely no grow forum has any policy as such while we have a few active advertisers on the forum we have 10x the amount not active who just run banners and i dont have the time of day to make and enforce policies on every product they own if you want to ask them questions about their products in a proper manner you are free too im not stopping that discussion, its just how we are doing it here has become quite aggressive, and it keeps happening to companies who dont have a large "fan base" for lack of a better term,

it can sometimes lead to advertisers feeling backed into a corner, no one's going to want to continue advertising if we witch hunt them to death, its unfair

i would take it up in private message myself, and see what they say there's really no need to be mean to these people its just not warranted. .

Not sure whats true anymore. Out side of hospitality jobs business is booming where i live. I think there is a lot of people aging out of the workforce into retirement and the incoming workers to fill those jobs is zero. How many 18-25 year olds we see on construction sites any more?
To keep this thread worthy if you need a Scorpion light come to Northern California get on a construction crew as a temp and get that money.

This forum used to be about credibility and trustworthiness, there was never an issue with asking a company to prove its claims, HLG (paid advertisers) went through this, got it in the neck, and stood the test, why is it different for Hortibloom?

Exactly, it almost feels like what big corps do, when they lobby the Government to invoke policies that go against the people's best interests, and we end up with a flipped situation that was once people powered and people serving, to corporation powered say/do what they like without accountability and recourse!

This sub forum was founded on DIY, but shit changes. The golden years here are long past us now anyways.

How depressingly true, there were plenty of debates and disagreements, but it was cutting edge discussion and helped pave the way for some great companies, this all came about because people were sick of the BS and False claims by certain LED manufacturers and here we are today going backwards to the same land of fraud and misrepresentation, where companies are rewarded by how much influence they can buy as opposed to building legit products backed by honest claims!
