ScrOG Advice Please

Organic no dig, 600w MH, (switching to HPS in flower) probably in week 4 right now. They are going into a 4 x 4 tent. The tote itself is 1.5' x 3'. I'm looking for a 4' x 3' canopy in the back with a foot in front to get in to work / store supplies.

I'm looking to do a lollipop ScrOG. Prune and defoliate, plus LST to flatten canopy and maximize yield. I thought initially I would remove the inside material from the lid and do a 4" grid. Later add a higher PVC 2" grid that is 3' x 4' in size. I then can train them into the second tighter grid to minimize the LST needed.

Is essence, double scrog?

Thoughts, advice? Anything helps.
Thanks homies!

Tent
Double SCROG? Are you referring to an upper level netting - the support trellis - which holds bud laden branches from falling over when they are close to maturity.

I counted 18 plants. 18 is a little too much for a manageable SCROG in a 4' x 4'. Were you thinking more of a SoG?
Yes Stare. Ultimately its a SoG, in that its many small plants I'm trying to get a faster yield from. The trellis is what I'm referring to.

I know its too many, I want 20 huge colas. Lollipops. So room isn't an issue. Will be removing tertiary branches and LST to make room in the process. That's why I made the thread. Because I simply don't know the best way to do that w/ this setup.

If no signs of sex when tent arrives a week from today will flip to 12/12 Phish.

One love, ty guys.

So I popped in the first trellis. Its helping me to get that initial even spread. I just used a hemp line so I can remove it later once they catch the stretch and go into the next trellis.

IS THE DOUBLE TRELLIS A GOOD IDEA?! lol :bump:

The only person that can decide what's best for you is you, for the 2nd screen, I'd put it 12" up from soil level, 2-3 inch squares are good, I would recommend strecher bars for painting canvas, sold in 2 packs, in 2 inch sizes, for you that would be 2)48" and 2)36" They are more rigid than PVC pipe I see alot of people using.

I'm confused. I've been told to never drop 2 plants in 1 pot.

With that many plants in that small an area, how are the roots not going to fight and then entangle each other for space?
Then, feeding - with the roots fighting and entangling, what plant gets what nutrients? How do you correct later if one is locked out, one needs N, or a different one needs K? My brain is reeling literally lol

For purposes of the thread this is the trellis I built for my system E0474888-C8CE-4A88-AF27-E6DBEDA93460.jpegand if I may I don’t want to thread jack but I’m in quite a predicament: I and pheno huntin so crazy smelling and growing strains and didn’t have flower tent ready when I transferred to 5 gallon pots ((less than 2 weeks) and now had to drop trellis on them as opposed to training them in. They were very tall and I needed Cuts in case of keeper so I lollipopped them and took cute from tops and topped all around will I still have solid mugs w all these tops coming in and should I flip?

Very inventive ... PVC pipe and 1" x 1" wood trim make great SCROG net frames. They keep the string pretty taut throughout the whole grow.

So ... correct me if I am wrong ... you had to lower the netting over top of tall plants. You didn't have the chance to train through the lower portion so you have bent and spread and pruned the taller branches - and are wondering if they will still yield well?

purposes of deficiencies toxicities and all the above is advised against to do more than one plant per pot say one is deficient you gonna treat both and end up in a circle ⭕ won’t end one plant one pot why be a roommate when the condo is same price?

you have to grow first to really understand that being said u will see soon enough u have wayyyyyyy to many plants for this in scrog less is better aiming for too kolas but lots of them believe me I’m after this as well. For reference I’d say 9 Maxing it in 5g personally in a 10x10 I’ve only 18 per side for a total of 36

nks for the reply I’m giving advice from exp all over this thread and asking for someone at same time sorry

so my situation is this I didn’t train them per say their structures were perfect so yes I lowered trellis over them as I did it have tent set up in time and spread them out that way they were stacking like shit and even the side branchinf was growing well almos didn’t want to touch some of that, anyway before I put them in the tent I had to lower the height they were tall as both trellis some of them. So I topped them and cleaned the bottoms up as if I were soon to flip and put them in trellis I did not however defoliate yet bc I haven’t flipped just wait mining for a lil advice ( but I ended up topping almost every main branch) on each plant and kept two of each as clones to see if they root that’s all of it sorry so drawn out any advice there would be nice as u can see it looks decent but once defoliate I thing it won’t look so messy so yea am I ok

Each plant should have a minimum 3 sqft IMO first off.
Second, please never plant several plants in the same soil.... it will never go well. You are stting yourself up for failure.
Third, don't do any training untill atleast the third or fourth node is fully developed.

You can do some real good flattening of a tall plant to fill your net. You might need to make a few knuckles in the thicker branches to do it ... and the plant might look like it's done for when your finished flattening ... but she will fill out again before 2 weeks are up. And she will yield very well.

This is a lollipop SoG, so 3sq ft just isnt how it works...

I've got 40 gallons of mychorryzal inoculated loam I'm feeding compost extracts. I dont forsee any issues. Ph is dialed in, top dressing coming soon.

Smaller ones will get quelled, so fewer. Outer ones will be trained outwards. Dont deal with lockout in no dig. I'll feed compost extracts, water often. It's a 40 gallon pot homie.

Here's the update dudes. Got a big stand up ac in there covering my ass until my inline / filter get here Tuesday.
They are autos, so smaller and I'm trying to keep my defoliation/training to a minimum, but I want to MAXXXX OUT what I can do in the space.

I know I have too many plants, I know my light is off, lol. Trying to stretch the shorter ones on the right.

Should I just pluck the low ones and pop my second trellis in above the big ones? Keep like...the 9 or 10 biggest and just prune / train to fit?
