I've wondered about the price of these seeds. I wonder how many seeds you get off a two meter tall plant. Should add up to a lot of money. But the really good breeders are investing time and money. They deserve to be rewarded. And I guess I don't have to buy them. I wonder if the big breeders, like maybe Dutch Passion, if they grow in the southern hemisphere as well as North (Netherlands). I really like finding a new to me seed breeder and just check them out. Like I'm doing now with Twenty20. I heard about them here. Bought a few seeds. This is a great time, and going to get better when.....never mind.
I'm just sort of fed up with what has become commonplace or accepted in this industry. $100-$200 for a pack of seeds that haven't even been stabilized, people commonly accept that they will have to sort through multiple phenotypes when they grow out most seeds. Back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s people created some legendary strains and took the time-the years-needed to stabilize and perfect them. Now everyone and their uncle is slapping famous strains together and giving them stupid names and charging insane amounts for f1 seeds. Once federal legalization takes place the American seed companies will have to compete on equal footing with the Europeans because the threat of seizure will be gone, then hopefully prices will drop here, but for now, it's a free for all and there is a ton of money being made.

Hello fellow RIU members. I am new to the seed scene and would really appreciate some veteran advice.

Ok so ive had nonstop suggestions for where to get the seeds, bu currently i have my eyes on a couple places, but right now thats not the question i need help with. I would really like to just ask, what are your favorite seed strains and from what breeders? Im looking more precisely for autoflowers for beginners and what breeder would have those? I appreciate all the advice and look forward to growing something other than bagseeds. :weed:
@SpideyManDan autos can be more temperamental than a 16 week haze from my experience. What are you looking for in seeds? What are you looking for in your weed? What do you want out of it...pain medication, high yields, trippy Sativas, giant yield polyhybrid everclear 29% thc(lol)?
For the record there are "breeders" and there are "chuckers". I have had great luck with the big name breeders like DNA with an LA Confidential that I have kept, it is a Sativa pheno with a high calyx to leaf ratio, spear structure amazing scent and a nice evening high...she's 4 years old. I have one of my favorite plants is from @BobBitchen. Seeds were gifted, Blue Balls and a keeper that legit smells like Welches Grape Jelly(also happens to be some of the best migraine medicine). I am not sure if this has been helpful but if you can give more input on your goals then some folks here can be very helpful.

@SpideyManDan the reason they are called keepers is because you went through multiple phenotypes of seed/clone and you worked to get the best results from that plant. It takes time...a lot of time to dial it in. You will either enjoy growing or not...

Well so far I absolutely love it. Not even just for the potential bounty or learning something new, but for the feeling you get caring for and eventually flowering a beautiful plant. Like there is something primal about growing anything imo.

I'm ready to put the patience and time in. I've always felt drawn to cannabis in more than a recreational way. Hopefully my slow ass state moves to legalization and I can get in to the field. Idk, I'm getting ahead of myself lol
