hello, I'm a first time grower with a couple of questions. My plant is on week 6 I believe and I just started my 12hr cycles 3 days ago to start the flowering stage.

I was wondering a couple things:
  • Did I end up starting the 12hr cycles too late?
  • Should I trim some of the smaller branches?
  • Is there anything else I should do to my plant? Or just wait at this point?
  • Also can anyone identify the gender? I dont know if the organs have developed enough.
Thanks!

If it's alive it's not too late to flip. To early, maybe. Pre-flowers show up typically between weeks 4&6. The only reason for a longer veg is so she can put out as much as possible. If she is questionable about sex, you're too early, put her back under 18&6, and pull her main stalk down with something (light stress training[lst]) and watch her bush out.
Throw what ever you have in your mind as a "time table" out the window. Unless you can mimick a breeders grow exactly, your times will be different from theirs.

I actually tried to tie off the stalk LST style but I found that her stalk is extremely rigid, is it too late or will it just gradually go sideways?

Also I think shes a female, one of my pictures is of what I think are young calyxs.

When training a clone, typically a harder more fiberous stalk, I pinch and roll the stalk where I want it to bend. The pinching and rolling will soften up the stalk making it less prone to splittlng. It sounds wrong, I know, but these girls can handle quite a bit of abuse. I'm about to harvest one that I am using a railroad spike to weigh down her main stalk.
