Yeah that's why this next time I plan on growing in a large 18" barrel pot (it has like 30L or 6.6gallon volume). I understand there are cons to having one big pot and monster plant vs a few like 5 gallon pots but it's as you say .. soul destroying. I only have 5 plants right now in small 8" pots and fak it's a bitch.
I'm actually considering and likely will go to 1 plant myself, it would make things so much easier, for starters I'd be able to get in the tent, the dodgy back dictates that I need to sit down with 4 I've only stepping space so everything is done quickly or not properly 100%.

It is VERY difficult for me to get into the back of my tent, there is almost no stepping space in there. I have to unzip the tent half way around and lean in like a fucking ballet dancer to reach the shit in the back. And nobody I have told this too has ever seemed to understand what my problem is lol.
The shopvac will be sitting probably right next to the tent anyways, i don't have anywhere else to store it anyways, so if I can I would like to just integrate it into the drain system, whatever I decide to do for that.

I tried an RDWC the grow before last and it was a wet and miserable failure. They were in big totes, so way too much water lugging around, couldnt control RH, got pests and i believe disease was starting in (I terminated the grow before it got that far).

Sounds like a ton of effort trying to route a garden hose up 2 floors of a home and overcoming gravity lol.
I'm on the 2nd floor, it would require drilling holes in the ceilings of 2 floors, which I'm pretty sure the other tenants of this home wouldn't like. And there's a drain in the basement but there isn't a garden hose water faucet, those are all (both) outside.
