The way I understand is they flush the last week or two of ripening. Regardless you can't flush elements out of plants. Tell me how over saturating the root zone removes elements from the plant. Break it down for me.
If, back in the old days they were using rich soil, not synth, it might take them 2 weeks of flushing to lower the nutrient levels

It doesn’t take the nutrients out of the plant, by sucking them out and sending them out of the roots, but since the plant is starved for nutrients, the plant takes the nutrients it needs from the leafs. the plants leaves start to lose color, as the plant eats it self.

Is there too much growth happenings 2 weeks before harvest to start flushing then? Depends on the grow. In dwc it might be less days.

It depends if you want your leaves nutritiously green, or if you want an autumn fade at chop time?

For me, and this goes with something I was saying in another thread about curing, for me I want the plant matter in the bud, to turn brown just like a leaf in the fall. Imagine a nice brown crispy thin leaf, you touch and it makes a crinkle sound. If you light it on fire it just burns clean. That’s what they do with tobacco to make it smoke smooth. So if that’s what I am aiming for,

then maybe doing a flush, getting faded, brings my budz that much closer to brown and fully decomposed by enzymes. And thus, smooth.

Heres some real science for you guys... jeez.

step 1. flush toilet everday in the middle of october 3 times a day. once in morning, afternoon and night.

after following these steps you will find yourself with a great reward for your flushes.

at this point its advisable to stop flushing. and just continue to shit and piss in it for extra bloom juice.
Maybe once you learn how to grow You can form your own opinion.

You really just said you want brown crispy buds? If that's your thing have at it. I prefer a nice fermented style cure that brings out the terps. Have it however you want it dude.

Yes. Brown crispy where the plant material has completely cured to brown, and all that’s left is the trics and the terps inside the trics, and they are as terpy as ever. Because we never went high temp. The plant material we don’t want.

Ya so a proper cure takes care of the chlorophyll. Once its cured to your liking you can take it to whatever rh you prefer for smoking. Flushing your plants isn't necessary, it's all in the cure.

Some bloke the other day wrote in one of the forum threads that he cures his bud by putting it in the freezer?

Anyone else do that.

Wouldn't that lock everything in place? There's no exchange happening in freezing conditions. Maybe he flushed too much and was trying preserve what was left of his brown crusty buds :-P. K I'll stop lol

I have a mate that does that. TBH his weed is very nice. I have never tried and never will I use old coffee jars lined with manilla paper.

I saw a guy on Instagram once do that stabbing the stems with a knife bullshit, he took it one step further with about 20 stems on one plant all with small plastic toy cars, lego figures and starwars figures all stabbing through the stems.

I'm trying to find the account or images on google but no luck
