Help please - Are cold temps the reason for new growth going purple?

First Grow so needing some advice please :blsmoke:

This is easy bud RQS and best as my research is showing it doesn't grow purple at all

My night time temps are getting too cold, I know this but I'm getting a heater today to lift it up a bit

Is this simply a case of too cold causing purple or am I looking at a def? Rest of the plant seems very healthy apart from a few fan leaves I burnt at the start and then again with the last feed

Day temps 68F (20 degrees c)
Night temps 59F (15 degrees C)

I fed Bio Bizz Bio Bloom yesterday 1ml in 1Ltr to my inexperienced eye, plant looks otherwise healthy and is growing well

Yes to a degree. You can put it down to the difference in temps between light on and light off restricting P uptake. Some growers do this on purpose. Also, 59 is getting close to the low point of what most strains can tolerate.
Please get a oil heater of some kind. They come with a thermostat and won't cause fires.

Yeah I've borrowed a fan heater for now, but this weekend I'm picking up an oil heater ☺

Thanks for the confirmation, good to know I was correct and not a deficiency

What benefit is there to doing it on purpose? I'm gonna raise the temps but I'm curious

Some people prefer purple plants which happens when temp differential is around 20f

Just want to say technically it is a deficiency. The cold limits P uptake. Hence the purple coloring. But nice and easily fixed with proper temps.

Legit the easiest deficiency to take care of imo.

Don't expect to see those return to color though. Once fixed it will stop spreading but it won't turn back to green.

Well I’ve had the purple disappear but it took a month

I’ve also seen purple from led lights being too close.
cold for sure will do it. purple is a sign of stress. So can be anything

I know certainly in the UK people do get a bit excited over purple buds, personally I find them to not be as potent but this could just be bad growers

Thankfully whoever's in charge of the buildings shared heating system finally got the message that those of us on the top floor were wearing coats all the time :lol: Temps are now back at a lovely 26 this morning and lows of 18 degrees last night, still gonna install the heater to take that temp up at night but I'm less worried

Just as a side note, obviously raising the temps has tanked my RH, Lowest recorded so far has been 35%

Should I be looking to raise this? Concerned about mould and PM but also reading that this might be too low and effecting gas exchanges?

Even though I KNOW a large portion of the RIU community uses Fahrenheit and not Celsius, sometimes i still forget :lol:

Kinda looks like the autumn leaves on the trees! Are you growing indoor?
