Is this a case of too much load or just dirty

Dirt and corrosion probably caused a poor connection between the timer plug and power strip, that caused resistance heating and plastic melting around the timer plug. Bottom line, replace that timer and power strip!

Not to defend mars, but to correct bullshit misinformation, yes.

People spew what they consider "facts" when it is purely anecdotal.

Take all the lies on covid as an example, people need to call out misinformation when they see it and until then people will continue.

Thanks guys. This is probably the cuplrit. The pictures really make it look more dirty than is actually is, but still, no excuses for dirty and or ill-fitted electrical components. T'was my bad.

Which part did you consider a fact? Where he said "I just remembered; If I’m not mistaken I recently read somewhere about Mars leds frying at the socket." So was it "If I'm not mistaken" that made it seem like he was stating fact? I get calling out lies, I am totally for that, but this post you were complaining about was a maybe at best. It seems like pretty bad form to call someone out for saying lies when even their statement suggested they could be wrong? Nobody likes being called a liar. Hey, I am not here to bash Mars or you for that matter, just seemed like you got pretty defensive over even a suggestion that a Mars light could have problems. I am here to say that all manufacturers could end up with a product out there with issues and Mars has been known to have a few. Hell I am an HLG owner but still ended up with a Mars SP600 during Black Friday as I won a coupon from Mars so it cost me $30. Anyway you take care and good luck on your grow.

Unless its constructive, just dont fucking say it. Its wasnt constructive. It was lies or what he heard. Plan and simple.
