I made $25 - $50/hr as a contract high end painter. Became very arrogant. Destroyed my wrist as an employee for $18/hr. Insurance threw me off workers comp because I refused their nurse manager access to my doctor. Legal by law on my behalf. Claimed refusal of treatment. No unemployment. 7 years and third attempt at disability. Had to agree to 38% + costs for a lawyer.

You got the $600? Not available here. First come first serve. Was gone the first day.

Rent is $1000/ month for a studio here. More than unemployment for the month.

People need to avoid credit. Cars and houses only. I did. And we will make it. As I watch renters move out around me. And new cars on flatbeds going down the streets as they are taken. All those look at me folks got a hard lesson. Not so interested in look at me anymore.

I wish we could get back to the long standing issues in our country and stop being on the verge of collapse due to the pandemic. Dammit man this year has been something else. And for self-defense, sorry but Americans are just super strange on this issue, like cow-boys. In Japan we have the concept that the first responsibility you have is to flee. If you can remove yourself from a situation and thus defuse it then that is your responsibility. Only in the case of not being able to flee are you allowed to defend yourself with violence. Americans are all about drawing lines in the sand and cow-boy nonsense. Nobody cares if you can "defend" yourself, get in your cars and go home.

Been there prior to my fathers diabetic condition being diagnosed and treated. No one should be subjected to that.

Dated a legal intern years ago. And my sister almost married a shyster lawyer. Typical business model. Under paid employees do the work. Boss claims responsibility and reaps rewards. Sad.

So what is going to be done about this epidemic in homelessness that is about to explode? I live in a good size city. Homeless everywhere downtown. Found a small encampment about 2 miles from my house of the hiking trail. I talked with a couple people there. None there by choice. All lost decent jobs and can't match wages. A few kids in the mix. Brought food and blankets a wagon for hauling wood and unused household items of need. But just a bright spek in their plight. One person. How do we help? It's deadly cold here after tomorrow. And the authorities are destoying these outpost and the belongings of those in them. We have a crisis for too many.
