So I go through tent fans about every 3 months. I have tried all of the plastic ones I can find on Amazon and they all suck. Monkey fans, oscillating fans, static ones etc. Ideally I would like a kick ass oscillating fan that can last a year. Price doesn't matter, whatever the cost will be cheaper than replacing them sometimes monthly. I am at the point of buying a lot of 100 fans directly from China because I am sick of buying them one at a time.
Any tent fans that don't suck?

Does it have to oscillate? If not, just buy some extra blowers. If it does, rip the fan blades and shroud off an oscillating fan and attach a blower
for an oscillating fan though, these are great, just expensive as hell, and you would need a big tent lol

I just got a few of these and they work well. They dont ossilate but can work as either a clip on or clip to stand. The front cage rattles a bit but a piece of tape solves that and they are cheap enough to toss when they die.

To be honest I don't know. I've always thought that oscillating is better so that all plants get the same treatment but to be honest those are the ones that break quickest. At the moment I have 2 or 3 small fans per 4X4X6 tent so that when one breaks I always have a backup.

I actually have those chitty vivosun 6" oscillating pieces of, yeah. But after the 2nd or 3rd fail I cleaned them up good. Removed all flash from molding internally. Moving parts that contact especially. Heavily rinsed motor and bushings with excessive electrical parts cleaner. Wear safety glasses if aerosol. Sprayed all plastics with aerosol silicone dry lube. Lubed bushings with Dri Slide gun lube. Almost 2 years now and only clean cages and blades. Bit of time and effort. No worries since.

Have to be a smart ass on this. Not suggested. Causes compaction of plant, static shading and dead air spaces below the canopy. You want lateral movement just below and through the canopy. Keeps things fluffed and causes erratic shading.

The only fan I use is a 6" 400 CFM exhaust fan mounted at the top of the tent pulling air through a carbon filter. With 3 bottom vents opened and filtered the air is pulled from the bottom to the top and out. It provides plenty of airflow. You can feel it from inside the tent when you close the door. I had a 6" fan blowing between the light and the canopy but when it started making noise I took it out and never replaced it. That was over a year and several grows ago. The plants haven't noticed. You don't have to have a fan blowing on your plants if you have good airflow/exchange.

My over population with SCROG requires more than my 6" can provide. Otherwise very accurate point.
