Happy New Years everyone! 2021 Is upon us!





Ok I'll get to the point. I've never grown a damn thing outside of my hair or facial acne

. Below is a list of things I've bought for my grow, so please let me know if I'm missing anything. I honestly feel like I will fail, but fuck it made it through 2020!



Hopefully dropping seeds Friday afternoon.



1. LAGarden 48x48x78 Tent

2. FFOF Soil from a local shop

3. 17x AutoFlower seeds on hand from varies breeders purchased through Seedsman.com

4. Running 2x Sunraise QB2000 = 400 watts with a 22.63 x 22.63 x 4.15 footprint for each light

5. I currently have three fans. 12" mountable oscillating fan, 11" circulating fan, and a 7' USB desktop fan

6. Thinking I bought an 6" AC Infinity inline fan what I actually purchased was a 8" booster fan...Forgive me

7. A programmable power strip.

8. Perlite for soil aeration

9. Fabric pots 10G 5G found a deal and bought more 5G.

11. Water and Soil testers

12. Dr Earth Fert - Premium Gold and Organic 8 Bud & Bloom

13. Digital Hygrometer Thermometer Humidity Temperature Monitor

14. 4.5L Cool Mist Humidifiers

15. Submersible Water Pump (using tap)

16. 1 Gallon Sprayer

17. duct tape, watering can, eye wear, scrog net, Gardner gloves, spray bottle.

18. Spray bottle

19. Pruners and Clippers

20. Ducting

21. General Hydroponics pH Down & General Hydroponics pH Up



I DIDN'T INCLUDE A CARBON FILTER YET BECAUSE I'M CURRENTLY STILL SHOPPING FOR ONE

Carbon filters are pretty much all the same so just get one that fits your fan. No need to spend extra on brand names. Good luck, its a fun and rewarding process.

You're going to hate that exhaust fan. Booster fans cant take much static pressure, slowing down its speed. Set up your lights in a way that will cover the floorspace. Everything else sounds good to me. Humidifier isn't something I would get if the air is exhausting out. Unless you have a lung room (tent within a controlled room).

Hey brother welcome to the world of growing. Lol 1st I want to say this is different then growing "other" stuff because the end product is so exciting. I grow but dont smoke or do edibles. I just love love the plant and care for my dad. I'm also a registered nurse and yes people can still get fired for smoking weed. I noticed you will have an exhaust fan. The 8 inch is def big so you may consider an intake also to balance the room. I always adjust the intake with exhaust ie fan speed controller. Some of the infinity fans come with a controller built in. You can tell when you close the tent if the walls suck in or bow out. I personally either do dwc or coco. I always had a hard time waiting for soil to dry and then over watered my plants so be patient when watering . Also be prepared for bug issues with soil. Fungus gnats almost guaranteed. Get some yellow sticky traps. And check out how to deal/ prevent. I personally use ditomacious earth but have used nematodes, playsand layer ....just trying to think of anything you may have missed. Its slot and you wont get everything. But you certainly seem to have all you need. I mean you will need trim scissors. Ppm and ph meters. I would have gloves to minimize loss of trichomes, a 60x jewlers loop or cell phone attached microscopes are cool. Either an app or notebook to document your progress to learn fro. Mistakes. I love roll it up but I will say this. People can be shitty and mean because for some reason all pot growers think they ate the very best because they had a successful grow well I'm obsessed and have been growing since 2015 and still have so so much to learn (that's why I'm here) so dont get into it with the guys or girls on here just take what you need and pay it forward by helping new growers..I think we should only respond to things we know first hand not all info here is accurate alot of bro grow happening lol. You are off to a good start for sure. Enjoy what you are doing and you will succeed..last thing...find someone on weed tune or you tube that is good and follow them. I follow Mr Canuk for coco (he is simple and uses dry amendments) and really good at growing. And I use hygro hybrid for dwc check them out. And good luck!!

So, the soil tester is probably not worth getting, they are of dubious value...now, for the water testers, you will probably get lucky and the TDS tester will be reasonably accurate, but the PH meter could be all over the place. I recommend getting two cheap TDS testers (you need the second one to double check the accuracy of the first) and one decent PH meter-for example, look at the $49 Apera meter on Amazon-that's about as cheap as I'd go-plus get the storage solution and the calibration solutions. If you can't afford it right now, get the Sera brand PH test kit for aquariums-it's vastly better than the usual hydrofarm ph test kit, and it will give you an idea of how accurate the cheap PH wand you got is.

I 100% agree..that said I spent 137 on a blue lab truncheon and it didnt last a week before breaking. And I spent 80$ on an apera that wont calibrate. Key is..if you go cheap having something f to back up your readings(another cheap meter) and making the calibration of the meters as simple as possible so you can keep the probes in kcl solution and make sure and use distilled water for calibration or get the 4 and 7 ph calibration solution. Good call on the meters

I'm growing inside an apartment complex. I'm growing legally, but I doubt my landlord or neighbors would agree with this so the smell being completely masked is a big deal for me.

@Magron You mentioned bugs that is one of my fears... Been reading about IPM but my biggest fear is to buy a product already infested...:-(

Yeah when I opened the box I knew I fucked up.. Starting the setup today so I'll try and figure out the best way to set them up. I guess you can call it a controlled room it's only purpose is to house the tent. Thanks.

To be fair, letting tap water stand has several benefits. One, the temp goes up to room temp, this is very important during the winter. Two, it does allow chlorine to flash out, though I'm pretty sure most municipalities use chloramines-this is of dubious importance, unless you are serious about creating a living soil, in which case I recommend people use a small bit of Vit C to remove the chlorine/.chloramines-it only takes a small amount, like 30 mg per gal. Third, letting your water sit out allows some of the Co2 to dissipate, which raises the PH of the water, so if you add your nutes and adjust the ph after 24 hrs, it will remain more stable. But I like to actually bubble it, not just let it sit for 24 hours....the extra dissolved oxygen is another nice feature.

If bugs are an issue just go hydro. It's really easy and pretty cheap to set up especially if you just do simple dwc buckets.

It's on other web sites, besides cannabis, says to let sit for 24 hours or boil water for 15 minutes or it will harm soils micronutrients? Hey I'd love this to be wrong. I'm trying living soil and it's hard work.
