im curious, do you water/feed like its coco?im guessing it drys quickly? do you ph like coco and keep it between 5.5-6.5? or like soil 6-7?
op should water less and pay attention more to the medium dryness, maybe? I killed tons of seedlings, not even 3 months ago overwatering everything, getting too excited. ive tried both coco and soil, and soil is what stuck for me and actually started growing something. going to try coco next, after at least one successful run lol.
some people (like myself) need to just do it and figure it out. I got something started but learning, is infinite, especially about living things like plants.

But Pro-Mix is peat not coco. Happy Frog is a peat based product.

So what are you trying to gain by mixing two totally different mediums that require totally different feeding methods together? What are you trying to achieve?

Actually I have mixed coco with soil. I reuse coco for a couple runs and then toss in the garden. But lately I've been adding it to my reused container soil instead of peat. It seems to be working fine. But the amount I've been adding isn't very substantial so It's not anywhere close to a 50/50 blend.

All my house plants are getting a soil/coco mix. Soil is for food and water/nutes, coco is for aeration and water/nutes and helping keep the soil a neutral ph. (Vs peat moss)
Sounds like the op needs the coco mix i have.....you aint overwatering that! im sure he wouldnt have a problem killing them but its not going to be from root rot!
Coco , much like peat , is great for container medium , by itself or mixed with soil , or ran hydro.

my veggie garden has a ton of perlite added in. really helps with aeration and the soil won't compact as easily.

That being said , i totally disagree on this "mixing two totally different mediums that require totally different feeding methods"
Coco being a "hydro only" mix is only gonna be found on RIU. Folks are having great results by running it hydro and thats fine but its also a GREAT amendment to a soil mix. I see absolutely zero reasons why it would be a totally different medium with different needs.
