Humidity help!!

Having a bit of a hard time here. Tent is recirculating in the room its in. I put the humidifier in the tent, and it doesnt seem to raise humidity at all (negative pressure is pretty strong, air is sucked out quick). I put it in the room, the room gets humid, but seeing as how the intake is near the ground, it doesnt seem to suck any of the humid air that is rising. Am i going to have to time the fan on/off for x amount of time?

Yeah, there is an exhaust sucking air out the tent, with a passive intake hole. The system produces a decent amount of negative pressure (sucking the tents walls inward a tad). I mean that the tent is recirculating the air of the room its sitting in (not vented anywhere else).

I already have a humidifier. Just trying to figure out best logistics considering problems outlined in op. Out of curiosity though, how much has it increased in humidity and what kind of circulation are you running.

When I was losing my humidity because of my ventilation system I shut it down . Used a small fan to pump fresh air in tent and opened. A flap to allow the air to escape . This created positive pressure , but I’m in veg , no need to delete smell . There is none . And when in flower you’ll want less humidity. So remove it or run the vent system to dial it in . Just my opinion

You could do timed air exchanges , but humidity is not friendly to carbon cleaners as I understand . I paid for mine to lol it just sits there unused until it’s flower time lol

Smell was never a concern to me XD so carbon filters have not been bought. Straight up exhaust fan and passive intake.

I think i need the fan too though. Gets waaaay too hot in tent, even with a 600w LED. Had to turn it down to 60-70% to reduce heat. Some laaaame shit.

Lower the CFM on your air scrubber with a variable controller

Get an attic thermostat for $20 which can kick on items when a hi or low is hit.

A second fan is unnecessary but thank you. Offsetting my single fan would essentially equal to what ive already stated in OP.

Its already at the lowest setting (6 inch infinity). Probably too powerful for a four by four. That would be my fault.

I already have an inkbird. Which only works.. when you can successfully alter the humidity.. in the first place.. sort of the issue outlined in OP.

Seems more like a dumb comment than any sort of stupid question being asked.

When you said run the vent system here, i assumed you meant what i already have. Now im thinking you meant the venting you use?

Works for small tents all day....I have a 2x4x5 veg tent that wouldn't get above 35% due to heat from my t5. A 2 quart bowl of water with a soaked wash cloth hanging over the edge placed in a drain tray to catch water with a small fan blowing on it has it at 53% with the lights on.

Do you have a fan blowing on top of your light to cool it?

I have one 4 inch fan on intake pulling fresh air in and I have 4 mini fans inside tent . I have one tent flap open half way to let air out . This has allowed my ink bird controller to keep humidity where I need it . I’m not using my vent system until I’m going into flower and removing /lowering humidity . I had the same problem . My vent system is too strong even on low .

Remember that temperature is a key factor in relative humidity. Warmer air holds more water, thus if the air is warmed up it causes the RH% to drop despite the fact the amount of water in the air in unchanged.

Do you have a fan blowing on top of your light to cool it?

Sort of. Had to crank it down anyway. Buddy's room was getting too hot didnt think the light would run that hot aha. May try the bowl trick tonight. Or slap the dehumidifier under the plastic grate they are on. I dont know. Going to fiddle around with stuff, try to get it right.
