HSO Blue Dream Replacement?

Did the seeds come in the original breeder wooden packaging with the glass tube glued inside. As far as I know alot of hso seeds are very hard to get now, alot of places are out of stock. Hso got raided and shut down a little while back so alot of people brought what they could. For abit now there stuff has been rare and quite hard to get.

Yes breeders package. I managed to order from them right before they got shut down. I would say I got lucky but if you seen the plants you would know that wasn't the case lol.

Also if you can find it in stock I think cali con's blue dream haze maybe be the same thing as the blue dream from hso.

Did you manage to get a picture by any chance please raider. I know alot of people said hso's blue dream was really good when it first come out. They must of tinkered with it. Did you ever try the regular seeds version of it from them if they did them ?

No, no pictures unfortunately. Wish I would of took some now of the good ones back in the day. The new ones weren't pic worthy tbh.

I don't think they ever did regulars, pretty sure just fems. Someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but i've never seen regs.

I actually have 4 hso Blue Dream seedlings that I'm currently working on again. Still a few weeks away from being able to take clones yet. See what happens but not getting my hopes up after the last ones.

Wonder which one is better? Might be time to find out first hand. Maybe I should order several "Blue Dreams" from different breeders and see what happens. Might cost a few dollars but probably totally worth it in the end I bet.

Im pretty sure Hazeman is using the Santa Cruz cut of Blue Dream, you could send him and email and ask. Goat and Monkey that I mentioned earlier has is using the Santa Cruz cut in their Triangle Kush cross. Hazemans has great prices though Im not what Goat and Monkey want for their fems but you can check on their web site.

There is two not mentioned. Useful Seeds has it crossed to Chocolate Diesel, and AK Bean Brains has Blue Dream crossed to TK x NL5Haze. So there is a good selection to choose from, both regs and fems.

Thx for the heads up. I just noticed the Useful Seeds/ Chocolate Diesel one being mentioned in another thread here in this section. Sounds super interesting, definitely gonna try those even if I find a keeper in those 4 HSO ones I'm currently working on. I certainly have enough options to keep me busy for a while now. it'll probably take a while but I'll comeback and post my results of winners and losers.

i tried hso blue dream years back.... garbo, i never got hso again. my buddy had blackberry kush was nice from them.

grew the bubba kush they had was terrible , had the blue dream they had too not as bad as the bubba but still was lacking severly

Seems like they have such a wide range in there phenos. Never know what you're gonna get. Sucks.

Any suggestions on some decent replacement strains for old school HSO Blue Dream? I use to grow this 7-8 years ago and it was straight fire. Absolutely covered in trics, smell/taste was delicious, fairly dense nugs, great yields, and amazing bag appeal. It never failed to impress my circle of friends.

However I ordered some seeds of this again recently and it was straight fuckin garbage. And I mean that literally. Nothing even remotely close to what it use to be. Not sure if HSO got new parents now or something but yeah, straight trash. I've read many older threads regarding this strain and there always seems to be a pretty even split of people who both love this strain and people who hate it. Now I see why.

I know Blue Dream is played out now and not many people grow it anymore but I miss it tbh. Any suggestions out there on something with similar traits? Doesn't necessarily have to have "blue" in it. Also I live in Canada so will likely need something in seed form.

I believe you might have ordered from a different "Humboldt Seeds". The one in Spain I read is "fake", i.e. not related.

The Blue Dream from Seedsman (Nirvana?) was great.

It was definitely Humboldt Seed Organization(not to be confused with Humboldt Seed Company) and yeah I think they did come from Spain. However it was the same place that I had seeds from before and they were fire. But none the less they're apparently trash now. Must of got lucky back in the day.

Thankfully we got some really good suggestions in this thread that I'm looking forward to trying.

The strain is still good... just varied phenoes... worth another try imo

Good to know, thx. I have 4 seedlings I'm working on atm. 3 out 4 look different from each other already. If at least one works out I'll be happy. If not I won't be growing anymore from them. Plus it's getting harder to find there gear now anyway.

All 3 black dog beans though turned out great. Super tasty stoney buds.

Only 1 out of 3 had potential for big yields, other 2 were average. Definitely could have been a little beefier.
