Hi Everyone. noob to growing not new to MJ. I am a medical MJ user for pain, etc. I use both CBD strains and Plain old THC depending on day or night etc.
Well time to try growing and I am new to this and got my Lic to grow so here I grow....
In Manitoba Canada and yes I am going to try outdoor....... This is going to be interesting as our climate is so F'ed up here and the grow season is supper short at best. Hope to meet lots of cool peeps and get some good advice and directions to do this right.

Welcome fellow Canadian. Do you have the ability to start them indoors? I know what you mean about the season being short and my best advice is to get some autos, start them indoors for the first month when it's too cold outside. Than move them outside, that way you can harvest late summer and not worry about the short season. That's what I am doing. 2 indoor crops a year and one outdoor grow. Photo period for indoors and Auto for outdoor.

I am going to try but fem only no auto's and going to try starting them indoor to establish them prior and shorten the window

Yes in short I am going to start them according to otheers in this neck of the woods recomended start from seed is end of this month so they become established for outdoor and shorten the flower time. Or at least this is what I am being told.
ATm I have 4 types of fem seeds to try (LA Confidential/ GG # 4 / C99) abnd they are all from what I read do well in colder climates and produce well outdoor so my method to my madness is start end of month indoor, veg indoor for a few months and kick them outside like teenagers and then the fun begins................ r so I am told.. (I might be a PITA asking questions, warning in advance)... LOL

Might have to do tradeszies in fall time .. might have to have a coneseoire day and make a giant table of taste testors... (I am dreaming me thinks) but it;s a nice idea anyways to mingle and work with like minded folks

Hey man, starting photo plants indoors will not shorten their flower time. Photo's only start to bud when the light changes so starting them inside will just increase their size/veg time. You can technically veg a photo period plant for ever with no budding. That is why I suggested auto's as they are on a set clock and will start budding without a light change. It's your call though. It's just a shame when you get some great plants going and all of a sudden the cold hits and ruins them. As Canadians we all know Sept is an iffy month, sometimes its great, last year it was cold and wet. Luck of the draw. Either way you go I hope it all goes well for you.

East coast of Canada here. Welcome aboard. I had a Durban Poison finish up by end of Sept last year and a friend had his northern lights finish about the same. Your choices look good. I did a C99 the last 2 years and it's pretty quick. Good luck!

Holly mother of God..... and the great veggie plant monster, I never though about it that way... Crap I overlooked that aspect a little they all come with short flower cycle 6-8 week so I did take it into account.. Well here goes nothing.

Thanks for the support, hope it works out, our last fall Sept Oct was amazing, if that happens this year I am not worried.. now if it is like some years I am in trouble

Finding photo plants with a 6 - 8 week flower time is pretty rare, finding breeder claims of a 6 - 8 week flower time are much more common. Last year in Ontario we had record heat and an amazing summer but first week of sept it was like 5 deg Celsius at night and rained constantly. Many do photos outdoors with great success so I hope it goes well for you. I am going to do auto's for my outdoor just so I can harvest at the end of Aug but that's just me. I just don't want to see this after months of growing.

Haha yea no kidding, sounds like a good time. I know a few other local guys who grow.
mom planning to run NL and a Pink Kush CBD, both autos.

Will be doing an indoor photo run as well, Black Sugar from Seedsman (Black Domina x OG Kush X Critical), kinda pumped about this one, I hope at least some of the phenos lean heavy to the BD, love that shit.

She looks pretty healthy though; how bad did the cold hurt her?

That was just a pic I pulled of the net, not my plant. I would say it destroyed the plant though as it looks like it had weeks to go. That's one of our Canadian issues, you can lose a month of summer/fall very easy. That's why I want to harvest mid to late Aug and I cannot do that with photo's.
