Hello,

DWC, first grow. Right now growing outdoors in natural sunlight. while assembling my tent.
Bigger plant is a Sativa Landrace Reg
Smaller plant is Mango Kush reg.

Any suggestions regarding any deficiencies etc will be highly appreciated.

2 plants in 1 pot not the best idea. Not saying it will not work. Just not ideal.

It looks like you are growing in qual eggs. Yes I know it's not. Just look different.

Def should try to have your gear set up before starting.

Why did you only fill half the net pot?

Do the net pots go in a bucket or something else?

Little more info about your grow and your system is needed so people can better help.

Most would say going from outdoor to indoor is a recipe for disaster. Lots of bugs outside that will make life awful down the road.

Plants look ok ish. They are droopy from either not enough water or to much. Yes you can over water in hydro.

I would guess the roots have already grown through the bottom and sides of the net pots so I don't think I'd try to separate them at this point. But 2 in one pot is going to become an issue probably. Are they are going to both end up sharing a 5 gallon bucket? Or what's the current and future hydro setup?

I'd also say start training them away from each other but they are sitting so low in the net pot with so little hydroton. You'll probably want to start training them away from each other as soon as you can/when tall enough.

They are growing in 5 gallon buckets with the roots almost 9 inches long.
I am just growing them here till they pre-flower. Planted two in the same net pot bcos I am not sure if they are females yet. If any turns out to be a male then that gets removed. Dont plan on getting them too big. So will veg for further 2 weeks and then flip. Will start training them apart once they grow a little more. Reason for lesser hydroton is because the plants are still small. Once they grow a little tall, will fill more hydroton.
Moving from out to in as my tent is getting done up. I am making sure my plants are pathogen free. Spraying them with .006% H2O2 every 5 days (3% H2O2 two ml in 1 Litre).
Using GH. Started the 3-2-1 nute schedule today at 3/4 strength from recommended for vigorous growth.
My net pot is 10 inch so I can easily remove the male if any without hurting the other. If both are females, then I will carefully transplant the weaker one in another dwc. I have ordered autoflowers but it will take 5 weeks to get delivered to where I live (sucks to live in Asia)

I mean you can aggressively train them apart but if they both turn out female, are you planning on chopping the smaller one? I'm just thinking ahead once flowering gets really going. 2 plants in just 4 to 5 gallons is going to be a lot of daily upkeep with topping off and adjusting of the nutrient solution... and still, I've had single plants that have mostly filled 5 gallon buckets with roots by the end of flowering and was a lot of upkeep. Or maybe you could set up a recirculating bucket system for them?

I am thinking about moving the weaker one into a different dwc if both are females. I will have them flipped in two weeks max, so I think it won't be too much of an issue moving one to another dwc.

Oook. So a little info on that.

You say if they both turn out to be female you will separate them?

It will take 3 or 4 weeks of veg before you know that. Maybe a male will show in 2 weeks. They usually show first.

Either way. That is a lot of root growth going on.

So say both are female. Those roots dig into the clay pebbles. They get inside and hold onto them. Also there will be a huge root ball under the net pot. You would have to cut the root ball...separate it from the other plant(prob not possible) and then remove the plant with the pebbles it has grafted itself to.

No way you can get 1 out of there without killing it after 3 weeks veg.

Sorry to be a Debby downer here.

I want you to succeed here. So best of luck.

I doubt you'll be able to remove even the smaller one at this point without a lot of damage to the roots and destroying the net pot (meaning you'd probably end up affecting both of them negatively by trying to remove one). Have you ever tried to remove a plant from a net pot before?

Yes, I have transplanted them from a 2 inch to a 3 inch and now a 10 inch. I just transplanted them today, so I can still remove the smaller one without ANY damage to the roots. I am 100% sure about it.

Yeah if it were me, I'd do it now if the roots haven't started growing through the net pot and so it can get settled and established and have some space to thrive. Otherwise I think the larger one will turn it into a lost cause. And that would suck if the larger one turns out male and the smaller one a female.

Its hydro. Why are we transplanting into different size net pots? Did you not have the 10" on hand when you started?

The roots should basically never be touched. They don't like your greasy man fingers all up in their lady business.

I have started my seeds in a small 2 or 3 inch before and then placed that net pot directly into the bigger pot after roots showed.

I did this for stability in the rocks. Not doing it again.

Yeah I also start my seedlings in the same net pot and hydroton they'll stay in for their life cycle. I don't even use rockwool cubes or anything to germinate. Just a 12 hour soak and then they go in the 6" net pot (I make a nest from crushed up pieces of hydroton in the middle for them) and then I raise the water level just a few inches from their level at first until they get anchored.

My problem is that I have only two 10 inch net pots. They are not easily available, where I live. I dont which will turn out females, thats why did not start them in 10 inch net pots. I will start my autoflowers in 10 inch net pots. I did not touch the roots directly, had my sterlized gloves on. Also made sure roots were not out for more than 30 seconds. I also have H2O2 in my res. Usually use 3ml/gallon of 6% H2O2.

Yup. I do the same. Straight into the rocks. I do a flood drain ish style with pots filled with rocks.

Gotta do what you gotta do with what ya got. I used to use h202 also. Shit is expensive. I basically use bleach now. 20$ for a life time supply almost. But that is me in the states. Not sure how available pool shock is for you.

What is your grow space like? You got a lot of plants going on. Plus autos on the way. 2 autos will fill a 2x4 space p easily.

I start them in rockwool too but I am inclines to start them in hydroton directly. The problem i think is too much nutes get wasted in a 5 gallon. You can easily start them inna 3 inch and then transplant 2-3 weeks later. Just need to be careful with the roots through the net pot but if this softly, it doesn't cause problems. I have seen a cousin do it and he had been growing for 6-7 years. Sadly, he passed away earlier last year due to Covid. I kinda started growing in his rememberance and it grew into a hobby

I'm a big fan of DIY'ing stuff. Not being able to find something I want to buy is an excuse for me to try and design it and make it myself. But that's most of the fun for me personally with growing. I know not everyone is like that and you do have to do what you have to do. It's just that I know the pain of having too many plants in too small a place and crowding each other out. It especially sucks with hydro and dealing with the nutrient solution.

I used to use 3.5 gallon buckets to start plants in. They are the same diameter as 5 gallon buckets so the same net pot lids fit either. Also used the smaller 3.5 gallon buckets to set the plants in temporarily if I had to get into their 5 gallon bucket to clean or res change and needed them completely out of the way for a bit.

Starting with a 3*3*6 grow space which can be increased. The others that you see will be grown organically outdoors. Tent will have these two and the two autos only.
Starting with a KingLED 1000W dimmable veg/bloom switch grow light. Which will be placed like 3 ft in height from the plant.
