I've got two sisters (one deceased) who were/are foodies and gourmet cooks. I consider myself gastronomically retarded, not a foodie, but I am cooking healthier lately.
It's "you're", but I do understand that feeling can be a bit of a surprise and off-putting. The UK is a big place and while some folks here can be a little ribby, they're not monsters and I wouldn't worry about emptying bank accounts or having weirdos show up at your house. I'm in Northern California, so there, I just exposed my location with much more accuracy than simply saying "the UK". Anyway, don't trip.

This is what I like to do with a nice cut of roast beef
Thai grilled beef salad
Recipe By :Victor Sodsook
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

Dressing:
3/4 cup fresh coriander -- stems, chopped
1 1/2 cups fresh mint
3/8 cup green chili pepper, serrano -- chopped
9 cloves garlic -- chopped
3/8 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup fish sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper -- ground
1 1/2 cups lemon juice
3 stalks lemon grass -- finely chopped
Salad
3 small red onion -- chopped
1 1/2 pounds cucumber -- peeled finely sliced
3 whole tomato -- sliced, thin wedges
3 pounds beef roast
1 1/2 whole baby lettuce leaves
Combine all the dressing ingredients into a blender, blend well.
Roast in oven or Grill the beef over hot charcoal or gas grill. Sear over high heat then low heat and cook to medium rare, 110 F internal temperature. Allow to cool and slice diagonal across the grain into very thin slices.
Transfer the meat to a mixing bowl and toss with the dressing and other salad ingredients.
Line a platter with lettuce leaves and transfer salad to the platter. Serve warm for best flavor or at room temperature. Use lettuce leaves as a wrapper and eat from hand.
