Are you a re-namer?

I normally grow bagseed... and theres no way to know what strains they are... so I give em my own names. For example: my current batch smells like strawberries (when flowering)... and the pistils are red... but its got a skunky aroma to it as well... so I named it "Strawberry Skunk".
 
I have a violater kushxhindu kush that i did myself and i call her "Osama Kush".


I know that he's technically Muslim, but you can't pass up that kind of name on a technicality :bigjoint:
 
names dont matter for the most part.. id say 1 out of 20 smokers could barely even tell the difference between some blueberry and some strawberry... theyll just say mmmmm tastes fruity! im super stoned! lets get food!

if your giving it to other peeps its considerate to try to give them what you are calling it, i dont personally change names around unless i dont know what it is, then ill just say i donno what it is but it seems like some xxx to me with a hint of xxx.. honesty is the best policy so they say!

I am currently growing 10 ice and 5 jack herrer the plan is to attempt a cross breed and call it jack on the rocks picture will come in 4 months or so
 
thanks I am a personal fan of jack danniels black single or gent o nthe rocks so i figured shit i like ice and jack herrer to lets see if i can do some crossing i am just worried because my sample is so small but their all from a good seed bank ice from nirvanna and jack from sacred seeds in torronto so i think i will have some good out comes i am hoping for a male and a female of both so i can try crossing both ways

same thing here...bagseed that popped up on Nov. 4th so i named them after some of the presidential canidates. i even have one named Colbert:lol:
 
maybe I'm sounding like a dork here...but i don't think the renaming thing is cool. first off, genetically, just because you cross two plants doesn't mean you get a mixed phenotype in the first seed harvest. you might actually get one of the parent's pheno's with a bunch of genes that are going to show up in the next generation.
I think growers should take some responsibility in that. I also don't like that everything is bubblelicious hazy gum bubbleberry...
I think the strains and the effort put into their cultivation deserve more respect. We should be talking about indica/sativa pheno's as in:
I'm growing bagseed which seems to have an indica dominant phenotype, copious resin production and fruity aroma much like bubblegum.
to me that is a lot more info than "bubble kushberry boombastic"
ahaha...not that i wouldn't smoke that happily.
renaming shouldn't happen unless the genetics are stable IMO

Absolutely. This this your purest form of practical Marketing 101. My brand is "Suicide Bomber" and I stand behind it. If you are not happy, I make it right. (within reason:cool:)
 
yeah!! i make up all sorts of crazy names for my weed just to see the weed gurus get all amazed about some strain that doesnt exist,

im currently groing some, infra-green skunk haze#4!!! LOL
 
haha infra-green thats good. yeah i'm thinking of renaming my pure power plant, probably won't but think its a pretty shit name
