concealment for dummies....

...at least for me anyway - my first grow. and the wife is a bit paranoid. thinks i am on some DEA database because i bought uncoated aspirin on Amazon. with all of 3 plants in a suburban back yard. (had to prove to her tomato people use it too...lolol)

thoughts? i still have several okras and melon vines you dont see. obviously everyone here can see whats gong on here - but the untrained eye from 50 feet away will be none the wiser, and anyone who can get that close is trespassing. and i am a 2A kind of guy with extensive martial arts experience if you get my drift. and my one asshole neighbor knows it. so he keeps to himself. all my other neighbors love me and cant see my backyard anyway. perfect! ;-)

main point is i have so many peppers all over and shade cloth to protect them from the brutal Texas heat that any other plant with peppers and shade cloth draws no attention because i have been doing this with veggies over 20 yrs.

thats my logic and i am sticking to it... ;-)

It's your call brother but with the lack of humor that Texas law enforcement is famous for, I'd be growing indoors. That's just me. I've tried fake flowers and peppers and orange and black Halloween ribbons for disguise when I was younger. The bottom line is, to a trained eye and nose it's not too hard to spot a decent sized outdoor plant

i hear ya trust me but its a pretty good set up, behind the fence is a 2-lane asphalt road with a steep 4' ditch and no sidewalk, and only one plant amidst dozens of veggies and peppers an melons so bleends in well, and both neighbors are cool. only big trucks can see over the fence and they only have a 2 second window at 35 mph to see the plants IF they look, an they would half to single them out amongst all the other growth. i take a leak while working out there all the time and i never ever see them look my way - its a narrow road so they are focused. and on the other side of the road is a big wholesale nursery with a natural area along the road. i have about 10 basil plants as well that add their own aroma, not to mention 3 barrels of compost constantly cooking. i add grass clippings weekly for even more aromas.

I gotcha, I only lived out there three years while I was stationed at Ft. Hood. I just remember my encounters with DPS on my motorcycle. They are not the friendliest cops I have ever dealt with. It sounds like a really nice garden, I miss those good hot peppers that's for sure.

I'm in Florida, and although I have a very good relationship with my local law enforcement, and I'm in the sticks, I'm not brave enough to flower in the yard. My advice would be to veg up about a dozen small plants and toss them in the woods nearby.

Good growing!
I’d keep em going as long as you can.
With a plan to finish flowering inside if needed - here we get fog and rains come September October, when they’re finishing up.

3 plants is going to be a felony with up to 2 years in prison. Your wife has good reason to be paranoid especially since as you say the plants can be seen from the street. Being trained in martial arts won't keep you out of jail if the cops spot your plants. And since your wife is also a resident of the property she can be charged as well so keep that in mind.

"the plants can be seen from the street. "

i never said that directly - but yeah, with a 2 second window at 35 mph. it doesnt happen. if you did your 18-wheeler could be in the ditch. cars will never see them.

i swear this is like if i was growing indoors and people telling me "you know you need lights" and "you know you should close your blinds so people dont see in"

man i thought i was the clueless one here. 65yrs old, hard science BS and MS degrees and 40 yrs as an environmental scientist, worked thru college as a bouncer, and surfed 20' waves across the globe well into my 50's. 5 yrs into a 6 yr black belt program too. not to say i am tough - just to say i have learned self-discipline and awareness.

pretty sure i can take care of myself. out.of.here.
