Did I begin mainlining correctly?

Grew to 6 nodes, topped just above the third node and cleaned up growth per growweedeasys step by step article on the Nugbuckets method.
I'm not sure if I've done it right, I know I did the node part correctly but as far as what I'm looking at/for I'm unsure. The four small leaves you see were the growth tips left once topping above the third node. Are the growth tips now "nodes" and I'm waiting on those to grow four nodes each before topping to the third again? Or is it the large fan leaves I'm watching? Not finding useful grow journals for answering this, so I've included photos so y'all know what I mean.

So when should I take the fan leaves off? I fim'd the growth between the growth tips couple days ago not knowing what I was doing so I'm not sure what to expect

Update, doubled things by FIM'ing so I believe I'm looking at an extra set of colas, I'm not touching it for a couple of weeks to let it grow out before the next topping.

Really they don’t ever need to come off if you don’t want to. They’re helping now but if it gets bigger to where they’re not needed the plant will eat them and they’ll fall off.

fimming is really weird, the times I got it to work I usually ended up with three colas. Just recently I got four for the first time. It looks just Like when you top at first, but after a few days the middle part you cut off starts to grow again so instead of the Y shape you get from topping it’s like a W.

It's supposed to split into two after fim right? Or does it split into 4 normally?

I’ve read anywhere from 3 to 5 new mains.

topping splits it in two, fim is supposed to be four according to most of the stuff I’ve read but in practice I seem to get three 90% of the time.

Fimming can end up anywhere between 2/5 extra tips. It really
Just depends on the individual plant. Anyways, I’ve been following nebula’s manifold and flipped to flower a week ago.
First pic is from last night.
second pic is of the structure, to give an idea of how inflated it out. I was cutting growth tips as the plant grew.Medium is Tupur.

Thanks man, I hope so, first time training in this style. It’s SUPPOSED to give a better yield then just topping. I kind of wish I spread out each stem a little bit more, they are almost running into each other! Lol
OP just go through nebula’s guide and follow it pretty closely. Any questions feel free to send a dm.

IME, the most critical thing to understand is to bend the plant manually first, then tie or stake it down. DO NOT bend the plant for the first time as you tie it down. Branches are pliable and will bend if done gently and some back and forth.

Tip 2 is dont do major tie downs right after watering. When the internal pressure goes up from watering, they are at higher risk of breaking. Give it a few hours or even to the next day and much less risk.

My first time manifolding I broke about 5 branches, 2nd time 2 or 3, 3rd time none. It becomes very familiar ime.

Transplanting to large 10gal+ containers is where the real crazy is lol. They love a lot of space.

What is the medium your growing in? Soil or coco?

I use bubbleponics with my new plants and the plant in question. I cloned the stems I cut off so there's three now. Blue dream bagseed. It's actually close to a month old now and has what looks like female parts which I've read is rare to show on a vegetative plant. I'll post pictures of what I mean shortly and y'all can see if it's a mutant plant or not lmao

I hope this can help visualize the structure for the manifold.
Yes my growths are longer than I anticipated, but worked perfect for how I wanted my manifold to grow.
the growth tips above the fan leaves are where the buds will eventually form, and/or any other tips that grow towards the light, when they get long enough bend them down slightly to tie them horizontally. Do it before watering as was mentioned, they will be easier to bend and more pliable.

I definitely recommend really spacing those growth tips out and keeping them that way.

The buds may get very heavy into flowering and you want some room to get in there and attach hooks for plant yoyos...more than half my colas on my mainlines needed to be held up. Having them all along the outside of the tomato ring really helped and allowed for good airflow through them.

Yeah if you have space for a tomato ring OP get one to use/modify per plant. I have a ScROG pro which is pretty heavy duty that I’m putting up once I do the day 21 flower clean up to help support weight. Between that and soft ties/zip ties it should work out for me, trying to avoid yo-yo’s if I can
