Don't go to the grow store unless you know exactly what you want. If you go there asking them advice they'll try and sell you crap you don't need and give you crappy advice. Most of those guys can't grow themselves.Well shit.
The local grow store told me to do that.
Recently I have been giving very light watering every 2 or 3 days. Maybe 2oz. Or so.
And stop mixing coco and soil. Get a bag of decent soil. Fill a small container, solo cup, etc... Plant seed directly. Give small amount of water. After that keep the top moist using a spray bottle until the seedling sprouts and starts to grow. When the plant gets big enough transplant to bigger container.
Don't fiddle around overcomplicating things with paper towels inside a baggie, cable boxes, and all that nonsense.
Steps:
- Fill container with soil
- Plant seed 1/8-1/4 inch deep
- Give a good watering
- Keep soil moist using spray bottle
- Wait for seed to sprout
- Transplant to larger container when plant is big enough
