How long do u veg for? Any, training? All PPFD charts can be manipulated by raising and lowering the light......often it's not apples to apples, and more like apples to pears. I'm now on my 5th gavita grow, and although I've had other manufacturers send me LED's to compare, I still favor the gavita's.
Medic Grow has a nice "Fold 8" LED for $589 which is considered a Best Buy in most circles. They gave me one, I like it a lot. But it's not a Gavita (which cost me $1200), but it's damn close. LOL
By the way, I've averaged over 50 oz per light my first 4 grows with them.
What distance do you keep the light at 100%?12 plants in the 4 X 4........I veg for 28-30 days. No training, but lots of defoliation. The LED's keep the plants nice and short, the defoliation opens up the plants so light hits all the branches equally so they can develop equally too. Sativa's I top once, indicas I just leave alone.
Do a google search for "sshz and orange gasm" for my thread over at the farm with over 54K views. Or "sshz and sweet zombie" that has over 51K views. Detailed grow threads start to finish.
Do you get those numbers from any other strains? You definitely have to watch the seedlings/plants closely for distortion or unhealthy growth. I've been doing this a long time, over 35 years now, so it's easy for me to look and diagnose any issues or problems quickly.
I keep the LED's around 40 inches above the pots at the seedling stage, and let them grow towards the led without moving it. At flowering, I lower to 20 inches above the canopy, wherever it is. Read my threads above, it's detailed there in each grow.
I’ve had 4 finished crops, averaging 103 oz...........but I typically grow strains that are high yielders. I imagine with a poor yielder you’ll get 40% less.
The key to all this is figuring how to get an even, thick canopy. All 4 strains I’ve grown had a similar canopy. Top all the plants to create more branches, defoliate to allow light to hit everything in the room top to bottom and keep the light low enough to control the stretch- those are the keys in a nutshell.
Nice. 3.3 lbs per light is bad ass, especially when each light is only covering a 4’x4’ space. I’m only getting 2.64 lbs per 4x4 area when i say I hit 4lbs per light. 4x6’ area per light.I’ve had 4 finished crops, averaging 103 oz...........but I typically grow strains that are high yielders. I grow trees nowadays. And most of the strains i grow you gotta pinch the shit out of them in veg to get the branching i’m after. But yeah, getting that canopy right is key to all setups. I will never defoliate but I do clean up the bottoms. Always have always will, even when i grew in rails. The key to all this is figuring how to get an even, thick canopy. Man, i’m not trying to nit pick your shit because it’s evidently working great for you but 5-10ml/gal of calmag is allot. I’ve never had to use that much. Not even with RO water and in coco lol. I rocked the botanicare PBP for a bit some years back. That shits way too expensive for my liking nowadays. Same with most all other liquid nutes. But the PBP is like one of the most expensive and i didn’t find it to be better than all the others.P.S.- Just to be clear, I have 2 gavita's in a 4 X 8 area. I grow in 4-5 gallon pots in promix with added perlite. I use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro with 5-10ml added Cal/Mag per each gallon. Past that not much more- I'm a K.I.S.S. type of guy. Less is more with marijuana, but most people have a difficult time understanding that.
