Burnt rubber terpene?

Hey guys does anyone know the terpene responsible for the burnt rubber smell? Growing 4 green crack plants and one ended up smelling like burnt rubber thanks for any input

Sometimes if your plant gets light burn it will have an off colored odor or the sweet, fruity odor decreases a lot.

I don’t think it’s that. I’ve had weed before that smelled like burnt rubber/tire like it’s very pronounced and the weed never had light burn/ my plant either

Not done growing yet , I rubbed my hand by accident on the sugar leaves and it smelt like burnt rubber/tire

I looked into this a bit because I'm a big fan of that too. Best i can tell, it's a combo of terps not so much any single one, but likely myrcene-dominant

Right just the smell is a good intoxicating has me smelling it like crazy Another grower told me it was this
It's a polyterpene made from repeating strands of isoprene

I love all the less common terpenes. Honestly I'm just tired of weed smelling like Fruit Loops or a Costco bakery. I love a good hazey smell, pinesol, gasoline, or rotten meat, etc. And as far as fruit, I like lemon and orange, but in small doses. All of the old time weed smelled incredible.

Yesss!! I agree with you! everytime I smell that rubber/ gasoline smell it’s reminds me of some old school weed definitely the favorites

As for the fruits I like the mango smells. Had bought some weed that smelled like mango/ a hit of gasoline been trying to look for a strain that brings me back to that

I forgot which landrace it was, but I grew a himalayan hashplant out once that reeked of mango, it was delightful!

This dispensary bud called "Burnt Rubber" smelled more like a brand new bicycle tire. Fucking amazing. This is what put me on the "burnt rubber terps" hunt. Still can't find out exactly what it is, some house strain i guess

Right everything from the smell to the taste one of my favorite to smoke

I’m trying to look for more strains that smell like that too read another forum here talking about it too but Some of the topics were brought up in 2009-2013

There’s definitely some weird ones that show up.

I just harvested a layer cake/chocolate nightmare cross and half the plants have a powerful weird savory smell.


at first it made me think of a Chinese restaurant but as it’s curing now it smells like a rack of ribs or something.

Definitely not the lemon or skunk smells I’ve always seen before.

Some Skunk crosses can smell like Latex in my opinion which kinda smells like burnt rubber? lol

Closest thing I've grown myself so far was PuffPuffPass Cultivars Chemdawg, one plant was berry sweet/gas, the other was dirty ashtray/rubber tire funk.

My green crack smells like rubber at first then you get hints of some fruitiness afterwards
