PM, bud rot and caterpillars.

Mother nature wins this one.

I played with one girl in a 5 gallon DWC outside. Tahoe OG Kush.

Horrible, I learned from 2 indoor harvests but I threw a clone outside.

I had fun growing it and learned a bit.

PM early and could not rid of it, huge colas and many of them but too much PM..... then the weather.

It rained twice this summer, once for 62 days and now LOL.

Rot everywhere, been trying to stay ahead of it but to see a infestation of caterpillars now....

RIP my first outdoor experiment/ experience.

I really like My 3x3 indoor clean room. Gonna fire it back up in a week or 2.

We shall see next year! Luck to all you outdoorsmen trying to grow in a rain forest of Massachusetts.

This was a tough year no matter what you used. I'm picking off new every day and I feel like today it ramped up. :cuss:

mine is under a roof with a fan to keep air moving...... RH is still 70ish just not in my cards this (my first outdoor) year.

I used 1tbs potassium bicarbonate with 1/2 tsp Bonners peppermint castile soap and 1 gallon PH'd water
and soaked her a few times for bugs and mildew. did nothing

But not the humidity.
Right, you would need an enclosed greenhouse if you wanted to have any hope of controlling environmental humidity. That said, buds are much less likely to rot if they are not rained on for 2-months straight, and are instead only exposed to high ambient rh.

Greenhouses get very humid too.

Baking soda is a decent preventative for PM but once it’s taken hold you need to spray. I used Nuke Em. It was rampant in Alaska this summer. Virtually every possible host plant was covered with it.

A good combo for prevention, fugal and insects, is Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide (bacillus amyloliquefaciens), Chitosan (homemade/ebay or Hyshield), and yucca extract. The bacillus outcompetes opportunistic infections, converts the chitosan into chitinase, which eats away at many insects, while the yucca wetting agent helps coat the leaves, feed the bacteria, AND has a DIRECT anti-fungal effect. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/227317002_Comparative_studies_on_the_effect_of_a_yucca_extract_and_acibenzolar-S-methyl_ASM_on_inhibition_of_Venturia_inaequalis_in_apple_leaves

I'm just mentioning it for next year. This year was bad for everyone outside, but good strain selection and smart IPM could have prevented or minimized most of these problems.

A greenhouse doesn't have a lung room. You are simply replacing the transpired air with other less humid air.
FIFY.

Although there are also methods of controlling the humidity of the air within a greenhouse. Here are some tips for you:

It's more to do with strain.

Same with the other threads you post on you're just here stirring shit. The thread isn't about humidity in greenhouses. I've grown in greenhouses many different things. We have very large ones in the family......not for hobby.

No PM or bud rot for me so far but I did catch some nasty caterpillars early. They must have hatched recently since they're so small. I can only imagine the destruction the bastards would have caused had I not caught them as soon as I did. It's past the time that I will spray anything so It's going to be just keeping a close eye on things. Fortunately I have a small greenhouse and a covered patio to move my plants to when it rains. But there are still moths flying around laying eggs so that's my main concern.
