My buds kind of smell like weed, but too much grassy smell. What did I do wrong?

Hey y’all

I have had my buds curing for a couple months now and while it smells like weed, it’s not pungent and you can smell the vegetive material. I hang dry my buds in the dark with sugar leaves on and fan leaves off, they hang there until the buds feel dry. That’s about 5-7 days. Stems never snap but bend. And burp everyday for 5-10 minutes in the first two weeks. My temps don’t get too hot for extended periods. I grow with a quantum board and they get up to 84 and keep there. I did harvest in August so it was a hot season for it. I grow in Coot’s mix and use only organic nutrients and top dresses. Did I harvest early? This happened as well with a grow before, I’m stumped. Like street weed smells more pungent, but this weed will get you way higher, and a more pleasant high at that

Most likely you harvested too early. There is a big change in terpenes right as the plant gets fully ripe, most people harvest before that happens and miss out.

how long did u put her under 12/12 for before u chopped? most likely harvested early.

I harvested 1 Ak47 auto i bit to early and after curing it still has some tiny tiny hints of a grass/veg flavour.

Harvested too early and/or too much initial moisture still when you did; you mentioned branches "bent but didn't snap", well you want the smallest up to the most medium-sized of the branches to snap when bent.

You should have flushed with clearex and terpinator or not necessarily those brands but an equivalent…

Also you need to cure properly to get rid of the grassy taste.

Flower longer, dry longer.

Flower ~70 days

Dry should be ~14 days

and switch to coco

Boil banana peels then when it cools you could use that if you don’t wanna buy a Turps enhancecer

Your plant may have finished if you didnt starve for the final 3 weeks, and harvest may not have been early at all

Yeah maybe. But at this point on the Trollitup.org i mostly get confused rather than enlighten when it comes to info. Its just to many opinions here so for some of the ladys i will flush and some wont get flushed. Just to see and collect the info myself

Did you use terpine enhancer?
