got a spike at legal daylight this morning. got him coming out a slew. the .308 did its job, knocked him down dead.
he is done butchered and wraped. gunna have neck chops for lunch tomorrow.

Did a little bird hunting yesterday with my niece. She got four good size partridge and then yesterday, she got her very first moose!
I'm so damn proud of her.
I had to crop her out. I'm not sure her mom would like me sharing her face

Full moon they will be up late, eating. focus on the afternoon hunt, they will be thirsty and come out early before dusk.

Thanks. Moose meat is my fav!
I'm very proud but cant really take the credit. My older brother (her dad) and grandpa took us hunting and taught us everything from dressing out game to firearm safety from a young age. All I did was drive and help scout this year.

Its really good and its very lean so when I use the burger for things like meatballs or meatloaf, I add a little extra fat. We had it in some chili over the weekend at a small harvest party.
But my favorite is just seared up in pan with garlic and butter.

I took a big doe a couple of days ago with a neck shot from the .50 muzzle loader so she took the "freezer" pressure down a notch.
Saw this spike again this morning but no shot. He's got a big body so will make a welcome addition to the meat store and I think I'd like to remove him from the gene pool.

CVA Accura with a Bergara barrel (Nitride treated Stainless) and is guaranteed to meet your accuracy expectations or they'll refund you.
I use the magnum load (150 grains) of "whitehots" pellets which is much cleaner and non-corrosive than black powder.
Bullets are 295gr copper coated lead that are devastating & she will hit "balls on accurate" out to 100 yds and beyond.

opening day for privative arms in morning for me.
gunna use a crack barrel 12 gauge with 3 inch buck shot or a scoped inline black powder .50 cal persuit g4.
depending on the wind, will decide which stand and firearm i will use.
i went check my cameras and fed yesterday, nothing is coming out during legal hours.
cooking a deer roast right now!
