Round 2 Vertical: 2400 watts, Hydro AND Soil: Agent Orange, Trainwreck, Sour Diesel

Well sorry its been so long, been busy lately, but my experiment is going into round 2 of production.

this time i upped the plant numbers,
changed the medium from rockwool to straight hydroton
since i had a mixup and ended up with some larger clones, now have some soilers to fill up the space at the bottom..
i will also be running the full 2400w throughout the whole grow, because i really think that it limited my yield, (along with the mites) last run

im keeping a close eye on things and hopefully getting this baby tuned in for maxiumum efficiency.

i have agent orange and trainwreck in the hydro system, both should finish up in about 8 weeks

then in the soil i have some of the larger trainwrecks that are about a foot ad a half which i got rooted in coco and pearlite blocks
also in soil i have the sour diesel which will take probably about 22 weeks, so we will have a nice little mix going... oh yea i also have a lone afgooey, and a random bagseed that is looking quite indica which was really dank so had to try it lol

i had recieved some pretty crappy clones so it took me a little bit to rehab them, but now they are looking good and vegging under the full 2400w. most are doing really good, i had about 2 that are stunted and still weak but im going to flower em out anyways.. got the space why not right?

right now they are about 9-10 inches on average, and will be flowering in the next week when they hit about a foot each.

the nutes for hydro are the GH series, along with some advanced additives such as big bud, carbo load, overdrive, and botanicare calmag and silica blast.

the soilers are on straight water right now, but will be nuting in the next week.. they are in fox farms ocean forest, and will be fed with canna terra series along with rhizotonic, cannazyme, boost, and pk 13/14

all questions, comments, and feedback is welcomed.. onto the porn!

as you can probably see in some of the pics, there are some spots of powdery mildew, which have since been pretty well taken care of .. have been spraying down with some baking soda. also a few of the clones had mites, so i will be treating them tomorrow with floramite, and inspecting in the next few days..

other than that they are pretty healthy.. the trainwreck is a finnicky little plant, the ph must be perfect! as you can see i have a little twisting in some of the leaves because of the ph. i had fed them a few days prior to these pics with some ph balanced water that was about 5.6, and they tend to like it about 6.0 maybe a tad higher.. still tryin to tune them in....

it smells great tho, when you rustle the stems it has a real pungent odor.. these cuts are straight from norcal and its the real deal holyfield.. i was told to grow em as a single cola, but i am thinking about topping a couple of em and see how they react.

anways hope you enjoy!

well last time i flowered at about 8 inches, and they about doubled in size, and still had quite a bit of room... so this go around i am waiting till they get about 12 inches in size which would hopefully put them right at the bases of the plants above them.

the only thing i am worried about is because the soilers are much closer, they are growing at a much faster rate, i will probably have to transplant them into larger pots before i start to flower if they get much bigger.. right now they are in 3 gallon pots.

no i am not going to lolipop so to speak.. i am going to let the soilers go for their full beauty, may trim off some of the lower branches.. just depends on how big they get, and the ones in the hydro, i will also trim some of the bottom but i am going to try and bend some of the larger branches down to cover more light.. i will probably be switching them over here in the next 5 days. they are all around 10 inches tall with the exception of the giants in the soil lol.. they grow so fast next to the light, i am thinkin about taking down the hydro and putting 6 plants around each light next time and get em right up on the light for maximum buddage

So I see only 2 lamps. I must assume they are 1200 watts apiece then? or are they 1,000 and a few unseen cf lamps? Nice setup It almost looks commercial. I assume you "intend" to smoke all that yourself and a few close friends,~LOL~.

flo, i love your setup alot,i just got one thing to add...

your set up looks like its nearly complete,ie mylar, shelving for nutes, ect,to me it seems like a good 3hrs of working and smoking youll have a professional setup.

ya i do plan on adding some mylar here pretty soon.. just havent got around to it.. and i have a bathroom where ikeep all the nutes, meters etc...

and there are actually 4 lamps, they are stacked on top of each other, i will get a picture later tonight posted

and ya.. im a smoke fiend... all for me!! MINE MINE MINE!!!!

ok heres an update..

been battling thrips and gnats the last few days, so sprayed em down with pepper wax, and dont bug me.. pretty sure i got them under wraps.. gonna slab up some garlic and sticky traps in the next couple of days and see what kind of response i get. also still seeing a couple spots of the powdery mildew which is under control.. i may get a sulfur burner just for good measure.

so my trainwrecks in soil are about 26 inches.. trimmed the bottoms so that growth will be focused right by the light when i switch to flower.. also the sour d in soil are about 2 feet tall looking nice.. a little lanky but nice and healthy.

the hydro girls are all about a foot tall, trimmed up some of the undergrowth to give em some good ventalation and will be making sure the bugs and mildew are under control like i want, and will be flipping them next week.

got one lil runt i was going to pull but im going to go ahead and leave her.. may give me a quarter or somethin i am hoping LOL but we shall see..

got some better pics so you can see how it is setup and how the lights hang.. still cant get them all in the picture but you get the idea with the chains... girls are lookin great, i think once i switch em they will about double in size making that perfect wall of green i am looking for!

anyways enough rambling, heres the pics.. feel free to question or comment

Thanks man!

It really is not that hard.. tape measure, a level, wood, brackets, screws, a drill, gutters, hoses, buckets, some silicon, zip ties, chains, eye hooks, s hooks, a little elbow grease and you are good to go!

im about to start flowering this week! i want them to make a nice wall of green so there are no gaps between each level, so stay tuned! its about to get reeeeeeal interesting haha!

Nice looking room flojo
have you ever tried hanging 1000w lights vertically? Do you think they get to hot to get that close to the plants? I'm looking forward to seeing the green monster fill in.
cheers

no i have never hung 1ks but i figured i dont really need the light penetration, and 600s are more efficient but i am sure it would work beautifully

and thanks for stickin around, i will be flippin the lights in the next few days and we should see some walls of green in the next couple weeks!
