HLG 600's and leaf burn

That a possibility for sure! You have this many spectrums going on in your tent......

And then moving them into a single spectrum with a few reds in there. Im guessing your HLG's are 3000K... pretty common, and good from seed to harvest. However, it may be too much of a shock to them... just a thought.
For sure , which would make sense why the leaf burning occurs when I first bring them in, but after I backed the HLG's off and turned them down the plants bounced back and exploded, but the whole time turned literally all the way down.

Then at day 21 of flower when I turned the lights up is when they fried. They should have been used to the spectrum of the HLG's by then, no?

A thing to note, my veg tent is only a 5x5, so it's not as much of a veg tent as it is a "starter" tent.
I start the plants in there under the viper. Then bring them into the big room, veg for two more weeks and then flip. Or at least that's what Ive been trying and has been failing.
This cycle I had the plants looking beautiful and bushy, perfect internodal spacing and all by day 21, it wasn't until I turned my lights up to 800 they fried

I would think 21 days under the HLG's would have hardened them off. IDK man. ... baffled.

That's nothing to do with light... thats a nutrient issue. What's your nutes and room temps?
And just one more time for people saying it's nutes, they went from this, to this, in less than 48 hours, all I did was turn up my lights. And all my other plants (I work at commercial facilities that use nanolux DE, have grown outside the past few years, and in tents) I've never had a nute issue or anything once. I follow the nectar for the gods full feeding schedule to a T. Doing feed, feed, compost tea. And my temps were like 77°f and like 68°f ish at night before I turned my lights all the way down, removed the pulleys and zip ties then directly to the ceiling
Edit: your temps are low for LED . Let them get warmer. Like 81-82F. Helps their transpiration

So after 21 days you turned them up to 800 ppfd, what was the ppfd for the previous 3 weeks before that? If you rocketed it from 300 ppfd to 800 at once on day 21 then I could see them not liking that. Also with the higher light intensity and added co2 brings more rapid and larger growth, which will take more energy and require more nutrients, possibly resulting in some heavy K deficiencies.

I run a couple 600r specs in a 4x8 and they're intense lights. I start off with them at 550 watts, hung over 40" in veg and have noticed they definitely don't like the light getting too close early on. Slowly and gradually they grow taller and get transplanted and end up closer to the light and have always been fine that way.

What I would do is make sure the lights are hung as high as you can get them but no more than 40" from canopy, then gradually increase ppfd from where they were with your veg lights so you dont shock them, and probably will have to up the k feeding. Good luck. Keep us posted

Awesome thanks for the reply, very helpful

LEDs are hard to dial in at first, especially when we see all these par maps at specific distances and hear that a certain ppfd is ideal, so naturally you try to mimic that info and end up burning your plants. Really, just ignore ppfd at first and dial in your lights for your specific circumstances, everyone's grow is different. VPD, temps, and co2 have a massive impact on how close you can keep your lights (and how high you can run your EC without burning), and always be very careful when you lower them or raise your % because it can take a few days for damage to show up. Start out with a conservative distance and make any changes gradually, giving several days between changes, and you'll be golden.
