I don't just want them to look bigger lolDepending on how you trim it can make the fruit look bigger

your doing well for your first auto grow, I would thin the plants out, just keep 4 main shoots and remove the rest(remove weak shoots), your canopy looks too bushy, this will slow the vertical growth.yeah my plant is really growing outside the circumference of my pot, but its an autoflower and its a 3 gallon pot. Does this mean that I'm doing pretty well for my first auto grow? This plant is in week 5 since it sprouted, so i'm not sure if the plant is big or small? Plant may look bigger too because I have tied down the plant with lst at a diagonal angle so thats why its covering the whole pot.
Yes, if the plant needs it then it gets some defoliation. I don't swazzanoodle and strip every leaf. I selectively take what's needed. Doesn't matter when, auto or photo, of start to finish.going back on my original question, so if your plant needs defoliation, you do it anyways? It doesn't matter to you what stage of growth its in? In my case or question was if defoliation during the preflower stage will either help or stunt since during this stage the plant stretches alot?
thanks for the reply bro, I was just wondering if i should wait until a week or so when the plant actually flowers first because right now its stretching and I'm not sure if i defoliate right now will it help or stunt them. I know Ilt be safe to defoliate 2 weeks after flower as virtually everywhere i searched online has said to do so during that time. There is no information about defoliating during preflower.your doing well for your first auto grow, I would thin the plants out, just keep 4 main shoots and remove the rest(remove weak shoots), your canopy looks too bushy, this will slow the vertical growth.
IMO Don't listen to any advice he gives.thanks for the reply bro, I was just wondering if i should wait until a week or so when the plant actually flowers first because right now its stretching and I'm not sure if i defoliate right now will it help or stunt them. your welcome fellow, I would thin the plant out now, the shoots left will grow larger and look more healthy.thanks for the reply bro, I was just wondering if i should wait until a week or so when the plant actually flowers first because right now its stretching and I'm not sure if i defoliate right now will it help or stunt them. thank you sir.Yes, if the plant needs it then it gets some defoliation. I don't swazzanoodle and strip every leaf. I selectively take what's needed. Doesn't matter when, auto or photo, of start to finish.
If you selectively defoliate it's not going to stunt your plants, but like I said your plants don't need to be defoliated. Plants that are packed with leaves that are restricting airflow is a different story.
I second thatIMO Don't listen to any advice he gives.
go for it! leave it with 10 leaves and then they'll all grow back and you'll have huge nugs.so everybody that defoliates is wrong, you make no sense.
you got to trim around the base then. clear out the low hanging fruit.Depending on how you trim it can make the fruit look bigger
and larf turns in to bubble hash. and the cycle comes 360 degreesdoes turn into larf.
that's selective trimming in my book. and for a specific reason.leaves that are restricting airflow is a different story
Still defoliation. People hear the word defoliation and they think it automatically means remove all the leaves. There are many different levels.that's selective trimming in my book. and for a specific reason.
love it!This guy rkymtnman is an idiot also haha
He's definitely not. Just because people have different opinions or disagree it doesn't make them idiots. This guy rkymtnman is an idiot also haha.
from what i've seen on here, defol is more like massive removal and not pruning. but whatevs: you got me on a synonym. lol.Still defoliation. People hear the word defoliation and they think it automatically means remove all the leaves. There are many different levels.
Seek advise elsewhere I’m outLol I appreciate the advice guys. I'm just gathering information and thoughts and will decide what I want to do . Looks like so far what I have done has worked. As far as the advice of pretty much lollipopping the whole bottom half and mainling sounds outrages lol. This guy rkymtnman is an idiot also haha.
i guess my main issue is that there is no way that a plant can create more energy while taking in less energy. a basic law of physics . but like i said, people defol the whole thing, people flush for weeks , people boil roots. you do you. He's definitely not. Just because people have different opinions or disagree it doesn't make them idiots.
