Hi everyone hope you all good,I'm new to this led malarkey not new to growing. I would like some advice on some led lights that I have been looking at. Its a total mind field for someone like myself im old skool & use 400w &600w mh & 600 hps. My setup is hydrolab 1.2x1.2x2.4 high, 6inch extraction 8inch carbon filter with passive intake. Temps usually 65_70 lights out 75-80 lights on. Medium is coco with PM nutrients & hand water.

Hlg blackbird

Hlg 600v2 Rspec

Lumatek zeus 600w pro

Skysaber 720w PRO MK2

Adjust-A- wings 700W HELLION VS3 LED

Mars hydro FC6500

Spider Farmer SE5000

Any other suggestions very welcome as like I said I don't really have a scooby doo about them whether I need IR n the lights or not I don't know my head kind of busted looking at them tbh
lol

so any help would be appreciated greatly as this is a long term investment thanks.

I was in the same boat your in, an old school long time MH & HPS user. I personally went with a Chilled LED 330 watt for my veg side, and am leaning towards the Chilled 660 with added UV bars and controller or an Illuminar Ilogic 8 for the flower side. Have had great success so far with my Chilled, took a bit to get used to, but got my VPD dialed in and plants are bangin so far. Best veg growth I've seen in my space, way better than the old school. Back many many moons ago, LED was the "wave of the future" well, the future is here, LOL.
There are many good LED lights out there, and some are cost prohibitive to some. The way I see it, it all comes down to personal preference, you will find good & bad reviews with any of them, some with excellent customer service, some with shitty. Chilled customer service has been excellent to me, 3 questions, and got an answer within an hour, and even one phone call. Mars and SF make good lights, I just wasn't pleased with the responses from CS when I asked questions, so they got dropped from my search board.
A friend has a Lumatek, and has great success with it, also, HLG lights are highly regarded around here. Keep up the search, you'll find one to suit your needs, just keep in mind, there is a slight "learning" curve when switching from MH/HPS.
Good luck, happy growing, and enjoy your new purchase when you make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my 2p...

Hlg blackbird - contender, good quality, good efficiency, reasonable light spread.

Hlg 600v2 Rspec - i would pass on this, the blackbird does everything this does better.

Lumatek zeus 600w pro - could be a contender, good light spread, good efficiency, reasonable quality.

Skysaber 720w PRO MK2 - i would pass on this, to much watts, unknown quality, highly questionable efficiency claims.

Adjust-A- wings 700W HELLION VS3 LED - i would pass on this, to much watts, adjustable spectrum is a luxuary but not essential. the 510 watt version might be ok?.

Mars hydro FC6500 - contender, cheap, good light spread, ok build quality, good "claimed" efficiency.

Spider Farmer SE5000 - pass on this, boarderline not enough power, the mars does everything this does better.

From my experience, the Lumatek is a true beast, very well made, durable with lenses to protect the LED's, with a nice proportion of reds. It will just squeeze into a 4x4. Everything about it is nice. And solid.

HLG has had me as a repeat customer pretty much based on customer service, I prefer their board style lights to be used in open arrays, not so much in tents. No experience with the Scorpion or Blackbird styles yet. Sometimes in particularly cold winters I will use my HLG boards because they make it easier to maintain appropriate temps than some of my DIY builds.

If I had to choose one I would go for the Lumatek for the spectrum, build quality, and spread. Good luck whatever you go for.

Thanks for input bud appreciated the hellion States that the 700w for 4x4 though its just confusing sometimes plus I would like something that I have full control over but I do think its a bit over priced.

Been growing for over 40 years hard to get more old school than that. Always ran Mh and hps which have always been the bomb, couple years ago decided to try moving towards led. Bought 6 spider farmer se 5000’s put them on light rails but kept my 3 hps 1000 watt with dominator xl reflectors. Installed 3 spider farmer on each side of the hps lights and the results were amazing. Best of both worlds. I’ve had great success with spider farmer excellent customer service with no problems after 2 years great yields beautiful plants. Good luck my friend!

700 is too much... you could allways dim its just your paying for unused watts.

multichannel lights are a lot more difficult to manufacture and more costly to make so i think the price for 700watt isnt really that crazy...

also you still dont have full control of spectrum with the hellion its just dancing round the edges of what could be done, more of a gimmick really.

the FIRST thing any multichannel light should offer is far red on its own channel...
