Can I add ewc to soiless mix to be used with GH floraseries

So do people add ewc to there soiless mix when using bottled nutrients? Im gonna be using GH floraseries .. I’m thinking of doing 1 part sunshine#4 to 1 part-1.5 parts EWC ? Or should I use less EWC

Im still deciding on what feed chart to go by
Or if I should go by the chart on the bottle, thts just the ratios right? Like 1 part 2 parts 3 parts ?

What mix? I add EWC to Happy Frog mix, but I also an add equal part of rice hulls to assist with drainage.

Why would you want to? Everything the plant is going to need is in the gh nutes. Ewc is more for organic.

As a tea you can. I had root problems for the longest time in rdwc and the only thing that helped and I tried everything and I mean everything. Was a brewed tea with benny's and ewc. Look up or Google hysenberg tea ! But don't put any organics straight into your res !

No argument. I just feel if you're in living soil, In a big enough container, and you're doing it right, you shouldn't need salt based nutes, but if you do need a boost, there's organic options, like Neptune's Harvest, or blue gold. No need for salts, but it absolutely can be done. Salt based is better for hydro imo.

I would start with no more than 20% ewc in your mix. You can also add small amounts on top over the course of the grow

Problem with this is he’s not in soil, the title of the thread states “soilless”. OP just stick with the gh nutes. You can try adding a compost or ewc tea if you have to, but then you are on your own as to how much, etc. If you follow the directions on the bottles for gh you’ll be fine.

He said Sunshine #4 which to me means soil medium albeit peat

I put EWC in soilless pro mix-same as sunshine once it turned to sloppy mess when wet, hard as a rock when dry. not worth the trouble to mix the 2.

See now, there's that tricky word: "need". Sure, you may not need it, but that doesn't mean that you wouldn't benefit from it.

I guess we need to more clearly define what "soil" is then. I'm not usually a stickler about it because everyone uses "potting soil" and calls it soil, but guess what? It's not soil, it's a soiless mix. I know what people mean though, they mean a mix with with organic amendments which try to simulate a soil environment. Real soil is what's out in the fields, and includes particles of sand, silt, and clay, in addition to organic matter. It's pretty rare to find real soil in a bag, or be using it to grow in containers.

I've added 5-10% EWC to coco for years. I only use salts. I figured it couldn't hurt and maybe get some microbial benefits.

Ran out recently, only had enough EWC for one of two pots.

After a few weeks I forgot which was which; couldn't tell after harvest, still don't know.

A sample size of one, but enough to convince me EWC is unnecessary in coco.

Yeah I’m in sunshine #4 grower mix
Comes Ph buffered , wetting agent and there silica

Well if there was a dumb ass button I would have pushed it and been done. Soil is soil, no definition needed, it’s fucking dirt. Soilless is hydroponics, not soil, a completely different thing. If you don’t know one thing about hydroponics, then do us all a favor and shut the fuck up, your not doing anyone any favors talking about shit you have no clue talking about.

So is typical potting mix soil or not in your opinion? Yeah I know about hydroponics, and I also know about soil.

Really, of course potting mix is soil, how could it not be? So is seedling mix, and everything else with dirt or organics.
