Been thinking about this a week and finally have a condensed version of 20questions for you Pads.

I just used DTE 4-4-4 with extra langbeinite and some EWC.
So, if I’m not mistaken:
(A example shopping list)
Down to Earth Organic Langbeinite Fertilizer
Mix 0-0-22, 5 lb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VJN96LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_32QW6CRN7SZHFYJP942Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Down to Earth Organic Vegetable Garden Fertilizer 4-4-4, 5lb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXLD2ZM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_P70S5354Q5ESF0MYVGBK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And some EWC.

Going to kinda ask your process here in detail, hope you don’t mind. You kinda go by the recommendation of a spoon for each pot about? And then you scratch that into the top or just evenly disperse and cover?

What’s the mulch you’re using? Looks like a nice fine hay or rice husk maybe?

My situ: I’m thinking I’d like a little white clover in my larger pots at transplant into those pots/Hempy buckets, give it a few weeks when a little is established, or thinned out if needed. Then I want to add some nutes and mulch top dressing. Interested in your current rating (very unripened hindsight on your current choice) for top nutes. I do have some EBStone Surestart 4-6-2 or a little leftover FF marine cuisine 10-7-7 kicking in the pantry I wouldn’t mind using as much as I don’t mind picking up a fresh box of DTE veg garden.

Ya, that's the langbeinite and 4-4-4 I've been using. But I also use other stuff. Kashi, Chicken manure, bat guano, and other stuff to name a few.

I've been using like 1/2 cup of the mix, plus Kashi, EWC, and langbeinite. But I mix it up sometimes and add other stuff. I'm in 15 gal post. I usually just move the mulch layer over, throw the stuff on, and cover with mulch and do the other side of the pot. I don't usually scratch it into the top since I've got roots and stuff basically growing right under it so it's tough to mix it in. And it's just rice hulls. You could also use straw, but I just use rice hulls. The hulls will break down and provide silica.

A cover crop like clover is a good idea too. I've got White Dutch Clover, but I haven't added it to my pots. I'm experimenting with it on house plants first.

That EBStone 4-6-2 is probably good, but I don't know what's in it. There's also nothing wrong with the FF Marine Cuisine, so I'd say go for it. I just try to avoid anything with added microbes since I want full control over what microbes I add. That's just the way I'm doing it, but like I said that looks like good stuff. I'd go ahead and use it since you have it.

The Marine Cuisine would be good for Veg, and then you could use the 4-6-2 for Flower. I'd add a little langbeinite to the 4-6-2 if it was me.

Kashi, I agree the stuff is inedible, but what brand are you giving to your plants? kellogs or?
I've been using Gro Kashi. The guy that makes it is recovering from surgery though, so BAS recommended the Kashi Blend. I haven't tried the Kashi Blend since I just opened a new bag of Gro Kashi. But I'd totally use their Blend. I'm too lazy to make it myself.

Understood, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Fighting my ADD and staying focused on my project. Let’s say im trying to KISS for this first go around. I like to looks of a simple majority ricehulks/hay/langbeinite for a functional protective mulch layer, mixed in with a few spoonfuls of surestart/marine cuisine, ewc (adding nutes but not inundating and defeating the purpose of a mulchy/protective cap between the cannabis/tomatoes and clover growing in the pot. Or am I missing a step or two here? Could, with my intention, it be better to sprinkle on the fertilizers THEN top with a protective cap consisting of only my rice hulk and langbeinite…?

The langbeinite gets mixed into whatever I'm giving them when I want to give more K. The rice hulls are just a mulch. You can use rice hulls or straw, or both I guess. Most people use straw, but I just decide to use rice hulls. Anything that'll keep the topsoil moist works.

And some stuff actually gets hot, hence the term "cooking soil". Stuff that gets hot, I'll precook with EWC or compost until it's not hot before I topdress.

It’s your fault Pads.
F0A14438-99C2-4D7B-BC4D-1B9DA403AA3B.jpegThanks for the advice, I’m excited to use some potent organics this spring to help supplement things at a good steady rate.

Currently I’m thinking about what to use and when (in regards to grow cycle and the “don’t try too much of something new at once” motto). Pardon for trespassing in your thread again but Im curious of your experiences/opinion with fish bone meal as an additive to the soil or a top dressing if you have any?

Bat poop I just needed more of while I was there. Rock phosphate I’ve used for my tomatoes and garden but not with my cannabis yet (the whole, not too much new stuff at once motto again).

Fish Bone Meal is sweet, but it's got a lot of Ca in it. I'm careful adding extra Ca since my well water already has it, and so does a lot of the amendments I use.

Played around with my @Inkbird infrared temperature gun tonight too. I learned something tonight playing with it,. I expected the leaf temps to be lower since I'm using LED's. Not as much of a difference between ambient and leaf temp as I assumed.

Lower in the canopy is cooler. My quick readings tonight were:

Ambient temp ~ 78
Leaf temp ~ 76-77.5
RH ~ 10%
VPD ~ 2.8
