That true. I suppose you can only get certain inputs from feed store like alfalfa and kelp. If you must use guano then you’re going to have to pay the fees involved in harvesting guano and importation fees. I’m sure finding a ethically sourced guano would be quite expensive as well.

High P fossilized Guano from abandoned collapsed caves can be had for about the same as Fish Bone Meal. Both work well as does bone meal and Soft Rock Phosphate but this needs time. Some is always added to my mixes which I reuse so a portion of my mixes is years old.

That was a more outlandish example, but I still literally see DTE in local feed stores, if not that, it's some other brand that's the same thing for probably more $, seeing as how the bigger the distribution, the cheaper it is to ship.

My local stores all have a slightly higher price, due to being small businesses.

Again, perhaps you could show an example of a locally source kelp or alfalfa...perhaps peat is local to you as well? Or crab shell, literally whatever you use, DTE is a good brand that can be had by most anyone in USA, vs your local feed stores, idk, that will depend on your region and if you live in a Hotspot of organic gardening for the most part

BTW, here's a little excerpt from an article written or at least endorsed by the owner of DE.

Dr earth is good stuff. My local nursery Home Depot and Amazon carry it. Lucky me!
In all serious it’s a great fertilizer and I’m sure they’re a swell company.

Amazon is the market place, that's why you can pick and choose the actual seller who is probably a local small feed store or nursery that couldnt get enough local business to keep the lights on...:mrgreen:

They'll sell it to anyone. I wouldn't really consider Home Depot an independent garden center. They sell it at Ace Hardware, and tons of other places too including Amazon.

It sounds good, but it's just talk.

Ace hardwares are independent franchises, and Home Depot actually does base their gardening area on local suppliers and buys from local nurseries so that's why they are all different.

We can sit here and argue but it's really far off topic of the poster claiming his local feed store(which isn't a garden center whatsoever) was cheaper and that the Dr Earth owner is sketchy or whatever. Or you can continue to pick and choose the parts you want to argue about, but I don't like to engage with Strawman tactics, so I will bid you adieu

I wasn't trying to argue. Just stating facts. This thread was about DTE anyways, so your the one off topic. The OP is @Skyline7575 . Don't take it personal man.

I've got nothing again DTE or Dr. Earth. I have a bunch of DTE stuff. What I don't like about the Dr. Earth is that they add microbes and I want control over what microbes I add. :peace:

Cool. I can get it from my hydro store, but they frown on bat guano so it's kinda fun, :lol:. I've got a bunch of different kinds though. Probably 5 types of bat and 1 seabird.

I never said that I have proof, nor do I own you any. I simply said that they sell it locally in bulk, and provided a link to the store. That said, now since we're in betting territory, and you're calling me out, what do I get when I do prove you wrong? You could always just call them and ask, but that would be too easy right?
