Curing Smell

I just dried for 11 days at 60%RH and 65°F.

Put in curing jars. 3 plants.

It smells like a great tea but not like what was growing in my tent. I read the fragrance will come back after a few weeks. The chlorophyll needs to dissipate. I burp at 6am and 6pm for 15 minutes in a dark cool, humidity controlled area.

Am I screwed? What should I do?
You need to dry and store with lights on like bk, :wall:

JK man. But seriously, what's your ambient RH in general where you are? Here it's really low, so even with it in a closet with a humidifier it still dries faster than what's optimal. So I need to jar sooner, and burp the jars a little daily for a bit. I also like to leave the lids a little loose the first day or 2. The smells do change a bit, but it should still smell good after the process is complete.

I totally agree that a 2 week dry is optimal though if you can pull it off. It's just tough here.

The funny thing is I could leave my buds hanging to dry under 1000ppfd and it would probably still be better than yours.

If you already hung the buds for a couple weeks for your initial cure then put it in jars it's not going to change much in character. I wouldn't recommend using any moisture packs they are a waste of money, if your weed is dry enough to need moisture packs it's already too late. To maintain moisture you can store in a sealed container or if they get a little dry you can put a moist paper towel in the jar for a couple hours and it should restore moisture. Save dat money.
Only speak of what you know, bozo.

Some strains fair better after a cure some are best when smoked just after being dried.

A strain that really seems to benefit from curing is any Zkittlez based strain.

Your weed will get better and smell more like it did while growing in time. Don’t worry

Believe it’s 55-62%

To store like 60%. Then let it dry a little before smoking is better I find. Like 55% for smoking is gd.

There’s a whole lot of talk about how you can ruin a cure with not getting above 55% humidity. Which is bullshit to be honest.

Had a few jars which were overdried/ scraps left which improved over time. Maybe there is a limit but 55% is not it.

I’ve had 48%rh buds taste more complex as the months role by

For sale? 62%

For personal smoke? I like around 50%, I find anything over 58% burns like shit in joints.
All of mine is 55 to 60% at the time. Smells like weed for sure. I took a bud and pulled it apart and it stunk up the room. I was like ok here's that smell.
