The only correct answer is when they need it. This, however, will vary drastically depending on the size and age of the plant, the type of medium they are growing in, and the environmental conditions they are growing in. When I ran rDWC it was just topping of a reservoir, in dtw with coco or peat its typically every day (sometimes multiple times per day), in a living soil situation it may not be needed for many days at a time. The original question lacks nuance and specificity.

Living soil should stay moist.
