when does nature flip the switch for the flowering stage. Im in mn. Planted on cinco de mayo. Not sure the strain. But I'm wondering if nature will flip in time, or if I should induce it like Aug. 1st

I'm in Michigan, depends on the plants and where they are planted, if they get full morning & night sun then they may not flower until late August. In my case they get mid/late sun so they tend to flip early August. You've got another 4-6 weeks before you see flowers.

How exactly would u do that ? I've done light dep before but what ur talking about sounds different.

I have a plant in a 5-10 gallon planter I planted outside on cinco de mayo. It stays small enough so it is movable. Last Sunday I started bringing it in my garage in a light leak free cabinet(duct tape was used) lol. And as of yesterday I think I have some pre flowers starting.

I'd let the plant drop em on its own let it suck up the nutrients stored in that leaf

So me doing all this is kinda pointless then? I guess I'm o lying worried about harvest in like November won't the cold cold kill the plant?
I've never had a plant go into November, last year was one of the latest harvests for me, and it went to the 2nd week of October just because the weather stayed so nice, anybody that let theirs go any longer, lost most everything to bud rot.
A friend let his go into November upon the advice of his neighbor, and lost 9 entire plants to bud rot, the only smoke he had was the 1 plant he brought over and ran thru my trimmer when I was harvesting.

Ok and you do nothing to sway the plant into flowering? Just let it grow and it starts flowering around this time in the mn/mi region?

If I knew what the weather will be in November I would be wealthy
I have harvest many times in November
Thing is one or two frost won’t kill a mature plant
In the spring it’s a different story
Even a snow melt situation plants can withstand
Best advice growing outdoors is do what nature allows you too
I just let em go. I would need a giant greenhouse to light dep those plants. Most are 6-7ft above the boxes, and a few are pushing 9ft. so light dep really isn't an option for me. I run most of my harvest into bubble hash anyways, and don't save much flower. I keep a very close eye on them and If they start to show bud rot or mold I chop em, that's my biggest concern because my spot is literally a swamp and never really gets dry, so anything past mid October isn't an option for me.

Thank you all for replying it's all been super helpful. Now! I'm about to get some tomato food today for her any advice? I'm just going to like a garden center. Is she doing ok?

Should be ok I'd find something with around 5-15-14 for flowering good luck!
